I refinanced my 2006 GMC Canyon in November of 2006, only a few months after I financed the truck in July through Capital One (which had I have known I would have stuck with in the first place.)

It sounds great, you can refinance through the company itself, they advertise low rates, etc. Make your payments on time, and there is no problems that I had, so I was happy at first. Things changed as I got laid off from my job for about 4 months, and fell behind a payment and a half.

I called the company, explained to them the situation and that I had just started working again, but my company holds back a paycheck. The lady I talked to was real nice, and I setup payment arrangements to catch up as I get paid the 10th and 25th of every month. My girlfriend is a co signer on this vehicle and is able to talk for the vehicle as well. I setup a payment for the 10th, 25th, and 10th of the following month. I got confirmation numbers, and it was all set. I was told I would be caught up after the payments so I was happy with that.

After that day, the trouble began...harrassing phone call about once a day. Typically the conversation would go like this "This is *so and so* from Triad Financial, we are showing that you need to make a payment for the month of whatever..." I would cut them off, and say, "I made payment arrangements", and they would say, "Oh it appears you did, disregard this phone call" and hang up on me. This happens about once or twice a day.

So a week later my girlfriend gets a call from an agent who informs here that the payment for the 25th cannot happen because it is too close to the end of the month, so she demands that we HAVE to make a payment on the 23rd, of which my girlfriend tells her, "We can't he does not get paid until the 25th and neither do I." So the woman tells her, "Oh it won't hit until the 25th anyways" and my girlfriend still refused to change the date. So the thing on the other line puts in the notes on the computer that my girlfriend changed the date to the 23rd...why would she do that when neither of us got paid? I overheard the whole conversation and my girlfriend arguing with her, and she never said yes to the 23rd.

Needless to say, they take it out on the 23rd, and thanks to us having a low balance and not enough to cover the payment, it puts our account under a good $300.00 thanks to Triad plus a few other things that posted to our bank account. I call and fight with Triad and they tell me "Well, your girlfriend changed the payment due date" and she gave me a person to contact and asked me to fax a copy of our bank statement and they would reimburse us for the money. We do what they say to do, then I call and they say "Sorry, we cannot reimburse you for what you changed yourself. Your girlfriend changed the payment day and nothing we can do (or will do)." I asked the lady for the confirmation number for the 23rd payment (if my girlfriend changed the date of the payment the confirmation would change too) but was told "She had to write it down"

Well, damage done, harrassing phone calls continue, and I finally get mad and ask to speak to a joke supervisor. She is very rude and hostile with me, especially when I inform her I am recording our phone conversation. I tell her all the trouble, and she tells me "Well, I cannot speak for any of our representatives and any arrangement made with them is on the computer." She tells me what the computer says, and I say "You are a supervisor! You're telling me you do not control what they do or cannot help me." She gets more and more rude, and basically tells me I am screwed. I thank her for being useless and just making me more mad, I realized more than ever that this is a ruthless, careless, scam artist laden company.

The trouble continues, they demand we make 2 more payment arrangements which my girlfriend sets up for around $535.00, I got mad at my girlfriend for setting up more payment arrangements, as I told Triad I would be taking them to court and never making arrangements again...my girlfriend meant well and we talked it out but this caused more trouble. We call our bank, and she makes a stop payment for the $535.00 amount, so what does Triad do...changes the amont due to $630.54 unauthorized trying to get money out of our account anyhow.

I am willing to become part of any lawsuit against these scam artists, and will make my own case against them as well...AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS or you will pay in more ways than one. Reading all the other people having simillar problems tells me one thing, we have a great case against them and none of us are alone.

I too had triad, and i finally paid it off. I went to the hunntington beach office in person and what do I see. I see only a front office clerk who answers phones. I was so mad and my wife lost her cool. We paid April's payment and the website kept saying we owe 500 dollars and the payoff was still 900. The maturity date was April 29 and all the monies that we sent in the last couple of months did not do any dents. In April I paid them 1450.00 and on May 18 I paid 450.00 and then three days later and they still kept calling. That is when i look on the website and saw all the amounts due. That is when i called them and they told me if i want my title then i have to come up with 921.00 so i borrowed money from my father in law and went down there to the office wanting to speak to someone about the account and of course there is no one to talk to. the front desk clerk put me on the phone with someone in texas. When i gave the front desk clerk the payoff amount then all of a sudden she called someone out of the back to come get it. We came home and who should call. triad. They called at 12:50 and we gave them the money at 10:00. I have not heard from them since. I looked on the website and now i can not log into my account. I am now waiting on the title. I better have it by June 2nd. The lady on the phone told me it will take 7-10 days. We will see. My advice pay them off asap. Use your taxes every year or take a loan thru your bank. they don't know which a*s from another.
