United Marketing Group - BuyersEdge - Travel&Ent ripoff Unauthorized monthly charges to my debit card for over a year and a half! Schaumburg Illinois

I just found out they (UMG BuyersEdge) been charging my account 11.99 a month for over a year and a half for some kind of travel promotion offer I never signed up for!! In January 2006, they suddenly bumped up the fee to $24 a month!! The amount was so minimal that it didn't come to my attention until now.

When I called United Marketing Group (UMG) said I must have purchased something over the Internet, but couldn't tell me WHAT I purchased. My bank said that they do this to people all the time. In the "terms and agreements" section online you click a box to make an online purchase, and the VERY last line of the terms and agreements might say something like "click the box to sign up for this monthly service", but the box will be automatically clicked for you by the company. You have to unclick it. This is HIGHLY deceptive and I'm outraged that there's no regulation against ploys like this.

Even more outrageous, this company has SATISFACTORY standing with the Chicago Better Business Bureau. We need to change this and stand up.
