Unitrin unitrin is as bad as the reports say I work for the company(for now) Saint Louis Missouri

I am a employee of Unitrin. And the guy that said Unitrin Specialty and Unitrin Direct were different needs to do a little research. Unitrin is a holding company on the N.Y. stock exchange for several insurance companys.They purchase insurance companys and change the contracts. I have been an Insurance Agent for almost 20 years. Unitrin is the worst company I have seen so far. They are horrible when it comes to customer service,claims and rates. I have lost so much bussiness because of customer service, underwriting and claims not being paid. The agents have limited information on the policy holders. It makes it hard to service them.And the agent looks bad because of this. They find everyway they can to keep from paying there agents and management. It is a revolving door.Their retention percentage is approx. 5 to 10%.They bought our company in January and it has been an absolute nightmare! They have lost policys,lapsed policys that were paid but the $ missapplied,gotten different familys mixed up and billed "The Smiths for the Jones policy" etc. That is why they will say they need to "research".They have gotten us in an absolute mess. I can't beleive that more people don't report them to the state insurance department.They bring their lawyers with them when they come to our office for meetings.They use every loophole in the law they can find to screw policyholders and their employees out of $$$. I even called the Ins.Comm.in my state and he said"sounds like you just need to find another job" You must keep in mind that the insurance industry has more lobbyist than just about any other industry. I would love to know how much they contribute to the govenors campaign. Because the insurance comm. is oppointed by the govenor.Bottom line....Unitrin answers to their stockholders and the only thing they care about is making them money. I would love to have another job but there are none out there. And I am one of the better agents in my office.Also read about the class action law suit that they lost for discrimination. But it is still going on!! What's up with that.
