US 1 Van Lines rip-off! Deceptive estimate! Late with delivery by days! Rude and Unresponsive! Dallas Texas

I was given a written estimate of my move from Dallas to Portland, OR. $1060 By the time my things were loaded, it jumped up 50% to $1550. Was told I had more things than my estimate. I went online to get another estimate putting in about 50% more than the movers had jacked it up, and got a quote for $1340.

Now, they were to deliver my things yesterday, 4/8/04 at 1pm. Got a call at 3pm saying the truck broke down 5 miles from my home. They were having another truck come to transfer my things and deliver within the hour. 6:30pm... finally get a call that my things will be delivered in the morning by 9 or 10am. Get a call at 11am that they are just now transferring my things to another truck and it will be later... within a couple of hours.. Of course, they expect payment in full by cash or cashier's check or they don't unload.

I try to contact my "contact", ann who was all sweet til I started to complain. Now I can't get a response.
Left a voice mail, too..No response. The only person who will talk to me is the driver with his rude broken English that I can barely decipher, and all he has is bad news after bad news. This company is a scam, unprofessional, and a big pain in the butt. I guess we will see if they respond to a lawsuit. That's what I may have to do to get some sort of satisfaction.
