How can these people scam millions of social security and VA pension recipients and get away with it? They won't let you transfer money out! I tried to transfer money to my bank account because my online rent payment system charges for debit cards no associated with a bank account ($29.95). Direct Express told me after five (5) days of not receiving my money in my bank account "it takes about 2 days, but if you have received it yet, it will be returned to your Direct Express card in about ten days, maybe you did not provide the correct information..."

What! Bank routing and account numbers verified! They won't let you cancel the card ("if you cancel you will not have access to your funds  and there is no way we can send you a check..."). I spent over two hours one day trying to cancel the card. They kept giving me toll free numbers which would give me another toll free (after five (5) toll free numbers, I gave up!). The hold your money for the interest and use sophisticated tactics to deny you to cancel or switch your direct deposit elsewhere. Ouch!Obviously the Direct Express bank (ComericA Bank, Dallas, Texas 75201? ??) is owned by a high-level  US Government official, congressman, or senator!

USDirectexpress at it again

AUTHOR: Christine - ()

POSTED: Sunday, July 07, 2013

A little over a year ago, I found this site, and filed a complaint about this company.  There were numerous charges on my card that I had not authorized.  After much going back and forth, they only returned a portion of the total taken off my card.

Yesterday, I went to an ATM to withdraw funds off my card.  Though there was more than enough money available, my transaction was declined twice.  I called and was told that there was suspicious activity on my card, and there were restrictions placed on it.  I was informed that my card would be "shut down" during the week of July 8th, and that a new card would be sent to me.  I told the customer service rep, (and I use that term loosely), that I had checked my account that morning, there was nothing out of the ordinary going on, and that furthermore, I had received no prior notification of the action that was going to be taken on my card.  I was told that I could not withdraw money at an ATM, but that I could go into a bank and get a cash advance, or make a purchase with cash back at a store.

So today, I check my account, and lo and behold, there is a charge on there that I never made, for $10.05, for a website called autoexperts.com.  I have never made a purchase from this company.  I find it stunningly ironic that the day after I complain about how directexpress is handling my account, there is a fraudulent charge on my account.

I plan on contacting my local Social Security office on Monday to seek alternatives to this card.  This "company" is nothing but a fraud, and if the government is aware of these complaints and allows directexpress to run rogue as they are, then, the government is guilty of collusion.  I would love to know where all of the money taken fraudulently from receipients in this program goes.
