I had a jacknife on i75 southbound mm 14 monroe, michigan. snow was bad, the roads were not taken care of and no salt trucks anywhere site. i lost control after trying to avoid two cars spinning out on the road ahead of me. i hit the medium wall total the truck. but not the load or trailer. before this i had 5 years safe driving one ticket for speeding. and coast to coast driving with no problems. but usxpress took all records of my driving away and said i ran illeagaly. now i just had came off a 34hr restart when this happen. i have not been able to get another job in over 6 months. Remember this name sam camp. he will be the end of your driving career along with and chance of getting your dac back in order. you will need at least 2500 dollars just to get a lawyer to fight what they said to get your dac cleaned up. dont be fooled by the autoshift trucks because they dont always turn into money for the driver. i had a chance to to go to tyson to drive but didnt take it so i could stay loyal to the company. my mistake right. so im out looking for work and trying to get some money raised to fight this. but i will fight this and will see this company go down one day.

I'm sorry to have to say this but you are totally wrong in this situation, yes I am very sure that it is frustrating. You as a driver should have known better then to attempt to drive if the condition's were so severe. as far as you driving illegally, this again is true. the department of motor vehicle's safety administration states that no driver shall operate a motor vehicle in an unsafe fashion, or while condition's are unsafe to operate under. so yes you broke the law, as you said there were no plow's or salt trucks out, and cars were already having problem's, why didn't you just wait for the storm to pass. there is another law in place that protect's drivers in this event. basically it states that if the driver feels unsafe, for any reason, he is not allowed to operate a motor vehicle, so in a sense, this makes it so that if you are tired, feeling sick, or the weather condition's make you feel unsafe. you cannot move, therefore a carrier cannot force you to run. if you had just come off of a restart then you had already been sitting, so why didn't you just wait? or when you started driving and saw that the condition's were so bad why not find a place to park? I have been driving for many years and I know why. you got sick of sitting there and decided to push threw, just like all of us have. I don't blame you for this, although it is not your right to blame anyone else. this was your fault, you were the only one driving the truck that night. As far as your dac report goes, you don't need a lawyer. all you have to do is contact usis directly and file a rebuttal, then they will contact the company get there side of the events again, and then you have the option to comment directly on your dac as to your side of the event.
thank you for your time, I wish you the best of luck!
