It seems all the horror stories about WaMu have their basis in truth.
When I bought my home I signed up for WaMu's automatic debit - where they automatically take my payments out of my bank account each month. I set it up for the 8th of the month so that it would be paid a week before the grace days run out to avoid any late fees. That was three months ago.
So far they have not debited a single payment and I had to send them payments on my own. If I were not watching my bank account like a hawk it would be easy for them to start hitting me with late fees for their nonperformance.
When I complained about their inability to put the payments through I get the story "we can put it through any time we want" - even if I get a late fee of $40 a month for the privilege. They screw up and I get penalized - that's the Ripoff.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
confirmation

Did you get a confirmation that the automatic withdrawl started? Possibly they did not receive the paperwork. You can sign up online and get the confirmation. Your account information online would also show if you are on automatic withdrawl.
