STEVE, THERE WAS A $700 BILLION WITHDRAWAL......

from the American people made by the U.S. government, and a large portion of it ended up in the publicly held banks, like Wells Fargo, right? I believe the name of it was TARP. (Troubled Asset Relief Plan)
The 'plan' was designed to purchase homes that were mortgaged in this country, but the plan was switched at the last minute by bankers, so the banks and the other companies, like GM, AIG, Chrysler, General Electric, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, & others, could be 'bailed-out'.

An $800 ATM withdrawal is highly suspect.

I have never seen any bank accountor ATM that would allow more than $500 per transaction at an ATM, and usually that is the daily max as well for cash.
$800 from an ATM in one transaction on the same day? Highly suspect.
I had a seasoned account at Wells Fargo, and my max was as stated above.
My current accounts are as well, BB&T, Florida Central, and TAB. All the same.

Nope, I don't believe it...

Most ATMs have a transaction limit amount of $300. So if you tried to request $800 it would have told you it was over the limit and to be try a lower amount.
But as another poster aid: any corrections needed to be done have to be initiated with the card issuer not with the ATM owner. If you use your Bank of America card at Wells Fargo and this same thing happens, you have to go through BOA to get it corrected.

...but that's how it's done. Yeah, they could have had better people skills, but, they can't just randomly take $800 and just give it to you on your word, they have to count the machine (there are tens of thousands in there, they can't just do it in 2 minutes), then reconcile it with all withdrawals and if there's a disparity they then try to determine who was shorted - usually (as in your case) that person will tell them they were shorted and the numbers will match.
However, they still can't take your word (someone else could also claim they were shorted) until they verify your account was indeed debited $800 - which they can't since your card is not drawn on their bank, they don't have access to the info.
Originating the dispute at the issuing bank makes more sense, because they can already verify that the debit from the account occurred, now they just have to verify with the other bank that a particular ATM had a shortage that matches.

If you read my complaint, you need to know I did get my money. The fact of the matter is bank employes[most of them] don't have many social skills dealing with the public when there not in total control.Whenit comes down to a 800.00 dollar withdrawl an the machine jams there should be some type of common ground with the ATM owner and the youser what if this money was needed very badly, not at the banks pace.

Good luck in your dispute, but it's always done that way. You HAVE to dispute with the issuer of the card, not the owner of the machine, there simply is no mechanism in place for a bank to do it when they're not the account holder.
