Hi, after reading so many positive articles about whitesmoke, so I wanted to try it out (free trail version).I was quite pleased with it so I bought it but..... I am really frustrated now, I think I just fell in to their buy and download trap.

Yesterday I bought the General, Business Writing Version, and Extended License Service. After paying via PayPal, I was reverted to a whitesmoke link to download what I had purchased. I was also informed that I would soon receive an e-mail with download advice, purchase confirmation etc, generally what one expects after paying.

However, after downloading I realized I had received a trail version, which constantly reminds me that I would have to purchase the license in seven days. I didn't even receive a confirmation mail. Since then I've been trying to get hold of someone from their support team, and all I receive are mails telling me that someone will get in touch with me. I just can't believe I fell for something like this, it looked and sounded serious, I had read articles about whitesmoke online, and it seemed like everything was fine. I Paid $93, 00 and have received nothing.

What should I do?

Something has to be done about these people, after googling and typing "paid for whitesmoke and never received it" I found this forum. I'm really worried that I just lost my money and even worse got fooled badly. Since yesterday I've send so many mails to the support team and even to their marketing and technical departments, but I have heard nothing from them. According to PayPal, they cannot book back the money that was sent to whitesmoke.

I'll have to deal with whitesmoke directly. It is the first time in years of buying software online that something like this has happened to me. If I do not hear from them within the next 24 hours, I am going to have to come up with something to do against these people. Just imagine they do this with all their clients now, perhaps that's how they make their money, people pay and just get a trail version and many people will give up trying to reach the support after a while.

I am giving them 24 hours and if I still have not received a confirmation e-mail by then, things will be clear to me and I will make it a mission of mine to warn people about whitesmoke. Whatever happens, I will write it here.

Suprise! Whitesmoke finally contacted me

I had almost already given up hope, thought that all was lost after having sent dozens of e-mails to this company, I finally received an answer, yes and even an apology. The Lady wrote....
"Please accept my apology for the inconvenience. Due to an error on our server your activation code has been reset. However, I have re-enabled it."

So I did as I was advised and sure enough, it now works the download is licensed:-).
Therefore, I must say, quite a hassle with the order and delivery but at the end, and after being very persistent things did work out.
