I have used my local branch as it was the only one who would give me a second chance at having a checking account. At first everything was going smoothly, than a few months ago I started getting overdraft fees when a deposit would come in the same time.

I dealt with it at first until this last time. I knew there was more than enough money in the account to cover everything I had coming out except one check. Note: My checks were directly deposited twice a month at the beginning of each month.

They are telling me I made the mistake when I did not.
It took three of us to come up with a positive balance in my account without that last item. The bank kept coming up with a negative balance as they say their computers do not lie. Ha Ha

I am only giving them a set amount of cash, the checks I hardly used, and the certificate from the GPS course to close this account out. I informed them I am not giving them anymore than that and it did not matter how often they charged me the daily fee they would not see it. I just wish I investigated this bank before I signed on with them.

You may be attempting to float transactions. From the original report:

"At first everything was going smoothly, than a few months ago I started getting overdraft fees when a deposit would come in the same time.

I dealt with it at first until this last time. I knew there was more than enough money in the account to cover everything I had coming out except one check."

A few points to consider:

Most banks process debits before credits. I'm not certain how Woodforest does it, but if debits and deposits arrive on the same day and you're getting overdraft fees, I'd guess that they do it that way as well.

The days of the float are long gone. You must have the funds available in your account before swiping that debit card or writing that check.

They probably process transactions from largest to smallest. This is how one overdraft can turn into multiple fees.

I advise you to pay the fees. It will become more costly down the road if you don't.
