I was being charged 5.95 a month for WPI*IFRIENDS Elite club, I had never agreed to these charges or joined their "Elite" Club. I hadn't noticed the charges because I hadn't reconciled my credit card for a few months.

I call the company and followed the prompts for credit card cards. "Greta" looked up my account and told me that I had agreed to join. She asked if I had read the terms and conditions.

I told her I had not agreed to join and that I wanted my account cancelled and my money refunded. She said she would cancel and refund this month and last month. I told her she was refund all three months or I would call the Attorney General for fraud. After putting me on hold, she agreed to refund all of my money and cancel my account.

I did get a cancellation number from her. Hopefully the charges will be removed on my next statement.

Unfortunately, Brenda did not provide us with enough information for us to find the account in question. Brenda stated in her report that she had contacted our company to cancel the account and obtain refunds. Whenever a customer contacts us to cancel an account, it is immediately cancelled. If refunds are requested, as Brenda indicated, our 100% customer satisfaction policy requires that refunds be given and processed immediately. We apologize to Brenda, since she was not completely satisfied with the way that her cancellation call was handled. If she has any further questions or concerns, we strongly urge her to contact our Customer Care department (which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached by calling 1-800-243-9726) and ask to speak to a supervisor.

The charge that Brenda describes is for an upgraded premium iFriends Elite membership account. Although the regular iFriends membership is free, each customer has the opportunity to create a premium Elite membership at the time of signup. The associated monthly cost is clearly stated during the sign-up process. To be billed for this type of premium account, the customer must affirmatively elect to sign up for it.

Our company has an exemplary 11-year-record with all of the leading consumer protection agencies, and we are best in class in our industry in the development of model online consumer best practices. Every one of our web services is verified by TRUSTe to be on its sealholder list of "the most trustworthy online businesses."
