YP Advertising YP. Claims an account that doesnt exist and refuses to Stop Collections Calls Nationwide

YP Advertising is attempting to blackmail me for money I do not owe them on an account that doesnt exist. I foolishly signed a contract to have YP advertise my new business in 2014 and paid them for the full year up front $1,600. over the course of that year I recieved maybe two calls resulting from their ads. Lesson learned I did sign a years contract and had already paid in advance. Well in 2015 I started recieving monthly bills of $140.00 after my contract expired. Called YP immediately after receiving the first bill and was informed that because they had made repeated attempts to contact me that they just auto-renewed my contract. Funny how I received that bill but nothing else and not one phone call on the number they had advertised for the previous year.

I was a home based business and opened a physical store location in Jan of 2015. YP started billing me in Aug. of 2015 for an auto-renewed contract. When I called them to plead my claim of not agreeing to a new contract and ask them to cancel in Aug. 2015 I was fully intending to pay the one month blaming myself somehow for just assuming that at the end of a contract YP would simply just go away until they informed me that the auto- renewal was valid and they would not cancel for another year. After seven months of receiving monthly bills and calling every month to argue we did not have a contract that I sign nor verbally agreed to they started calling threatening actions against my credit.

The entire time I was begging them to stop the continued to publish my home phone number that I had given them in 2014 even though my business had a new phone number in Jan of 1015 that I refused to give them because of fears a judge may say I benefited from them advertising for me even though I hadnt agreed to a new contract. November of 2015 YP still continuing to bill me monthly against my pleas for them to stop being unsuccesfull in aquiring my business info, with no effort to cancel or stop the harassment took it upon themselves to just take all my business info from my free google page, Which was bringing me a ton of business, and just start publishing that. How is that or any of this legal? YP will not give me an address other than a P.O. Box knowing I am attempting to send them a certified letter demanding they stop their actions.

Upon talking to other small business owners in my area, I have learned that I am by far not the first business owner they have done this to. They refuse to take me to court over this matter as I have asked them to do once a month for almost a year. Collection agencies really do not care if it is a valid debt because they feel you will pay it to have your credit not attacked. Well this guy will not pay blackmailers and would love to have names and numbers of all the other people they have done this to in hopes of filing a class action suit against them. Extortion is the word that comes to mind by a company very few people use in the age of smart phones.

This is hurting my business and the threats of attacking my credit will most surely result in a provable loss of income to my business. Damages are there!

For the record I own a gunstore and should anyone show up at my home address looking to steal firearms that are not there as a result of YP refusing to stop publishing my personal info and a family member get hurt, this thing will take on a whole new aspect of bad.
