I have been waiting a year to have a hardwood floor. I finally ordered the wood and it took 2 months acclimated in air conditioning and 40% humidity until my very qualified installer put it in. He struggled with it because the wood was broken, the widths were different sizes, almost all the pieces were warped so they had to be nailed from the top, and even one end was a different size than the other end. I have missed work just to have this **** put in. There are so many nails having to be used that he ran out of nails and had to come back.
I am hoping that lumber liquidators will refund all my money and reinstall it and in the meantime I will have to deal with an ugly floor.

LL Response To Flooring Concerns _Nailing
AUTHOR: LL Response - (United States of America)

A proper response requires asking more detailed questions about the installation, grade of the product purchased, application etc. One comment that concerns me about this complaint is the face nailing by the installer. A qualified and properly educated installer would stop the project and consult the store. The idea that the installer continues to install using a face nailing process is an immediate indication the person installing may not be a flooring installer, rather someone who may have some understanding of general types of work. A flooring installer takes proper steps to ensure satisfaction by notifying the store of any concerns outside the natural waste factor. In this process, homeowners may purchase flooring and rely on someone skilled to install the flooring, but we always recommend consulting qualified flooring installers, not general contractors who may install a fence one day, siding another, and finally work on installing a floor. A flooring installer knows the proper technique and has all the tools and industry know-how to install all types of flooring products successfully. Sorry to hear there's been a concern, but I would start by asking another installer for a second opinion before you point the finger at the quality of the wood. The immediate complaint is actually suggesting the installer may be a concern based on my knowledge of flooring situations.
