Lumber Liquidators Bait and Switch!! Horrible Service!! denver,co Nationwide

I purchased 470 sq. feet of morning star brand bamboo flooring..  When I got home I realized the color was completly different than what I was shown in the store.  I then decided to do some research on this particular floor that I purchased..

What I found was pages upon pages of people complaining about this particular floor. The main issue is that the floor I bought is made in china, and it contains toxic levels of fermaldahyde.  There have been several Lawsuits against Lumber Liquidators for this reason. 

I also found an incredible amount of complaints about this floor.. shrinking, cupping, scratching very easily, and even people and their children becoming very sick due too the fermaldahyde off gassing.  But of course on Lumberliquidators.com there are nothing but good reviews on this product. 

So the next day I  bring all of the flooring back to the store. I asked every single employee if they have heard of anyone having issues with the exact model of flooring that I bought. Every single employee looked me right in the eyes and said they have not  .  They also lied to me by telling me that the floor I bought can be refinished.  A simple google search revealed that it cannot.  

I then inform them of about the fermaldahyde in the wood and all of the other complaints I found on-line and tell them I want to return the floor.  So then they tell me I will have to pay the 20%   re-stocking fee..which I already knew since I read all the fine print. So I asked to see manager even though I knew it would be no help. 

I showed him the huge color difference in the wood I was shown in the store and the wood I was sold.  It was at this point when he became very rude to me. Tried telling me the two different pieces were in fact the same color when they clearly were not.  He also told me he has not heard of any issues with this flooring.. which was clearly a lie because there is currently a lawsuit going on against the company he works for.

So. they ended up taking the flooring back and charging me the re-stocking fee.. which ended up being about $400.  The manager of the store was incredibly rude to me. I feel like I was scammed. I was given a different product then shown. And I never would have bought the product if I had known about the toxic levels of fermaldahyde. 

Even though it cost me $400. It was a valuable lesson learned for me. Do not shop at lumber liquidators. Do your research first. These people are scam artists and they will lie to your face. I don't know how they sleep at night knowing they are living a lie.  I am so glad that I found out about all of the issues before I installed it in my house.

It could have been much worse .  I read stories of people losing up to $20,000 because of this horrible product.  One family even claims they were homeless for almost a year.
