I had a Paypal account which I was doing business through. I tried over and over to verify my Social Security Number. They claimed the system couldn't find my number. (Are they kidding?!) Then they requested that I fax them my social security card, driver's license, and a recent paystub. I did so, and a week later they froze my account. I e-mailed them over and over again. Receiving almost exactly the same "FORM" e-mail back. No one reads the e-mail that this company receives! There is little or no customer service. Below are the exact letters I sent to them.

Don't you people ever answer your users. (This is a
bad business practice on your part.) For my social
security number verification I have sent you my
paystub, and a copy of my driver's license in a fax.
ALONG WITH THE SAME LETTER!) I heard nothing, a few
days later my account is restricted from my using it.
(Good thing I had time to transfer the funds out of
it.) Is paypal.com just a site that collects
everyone's "personal" information?! And if so? To what
end? I will not be sending anymore information in a
fax to your company, because what I have sent is
sufficeint, and I no longer want to deal with paypal,
and I also believe that others should know about your
restricting accounts for no reason other then someone making a profit.
Sincerely,
Johnathan Hampton

This is the reply that I received from them.

Dear John,
Thank you for contacting PayPal. We apologize for the delay in responding to your service request. We do understand your hesitancy with faxing your information to us. Here at PayPal security is our top priority. Unfortunately, without this
information we will be unable to lift the restriction off of your account. Once we receive your documentation, you will receive a notice from us confirming it and the outcome of your restriction status. We do apologize for the inconvenience.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
Sincerely,
PayPal Account Review Department

This is the type of service you can expect to receive from this company! I urge everyone not to use Paypal, because I did not believe that they would freeze an account for no reason, but they do, and anyone who tells you that won't happen. Give them my e-mail address and I will inform them personally! E-Mail Jhamper_1999@yahoo.com
