SANTANDER CONSUMER USA OVERLY HIGH INTEREST RATES FOR A 2006 JEEP DALLAS Texas
*Consumer Comment: My Take
*Consumer Comment: Here's Why!
WENT TO R.R.FORD FOR A CAR. Found one that I thought was good,it was a 2006 Jeep Liberty. 7500.00 car that ended up costing me almost 12,000. the price of a new one. they charged me a interest rate of 11%,which is rediculous!!!! I've been trying to get it refinanced but keep having a very hard time getting it done. It seems noone wants to take them on. I will with the right help. It needs to stop with all dealers. Should have gotten a carfax as well, cause i think the vechicle has been damaged. Would like my money back and a better vechicle.

I have dealt with Santander also in the past.
I agree...I did not have the best credit when they approved me for my first loan, but I made every payment on time...(most early) and paid off the loan.
I figured I proved my credit worthiness to them so I applied again with them for my next vehicle purchase. I got approval right away, but to my suprise my interest rate was no better than the term of the first loan.
You would think that after paying off the first loan and making a ton of money off of me they would help me out a little bit and give me a better rate, but I guess they were looking at me as the "CASH COW" and wanted to stick it to me again.
Needless to say I went elsewhere for financing and instead of a rediculous 17% I was approved for 3.9%.

Santander is a SUBPRIME lender. You were placed with them exclusively because of your credit reputation. If your credit was better, a bank with a much lower interest rate would have been willing to take a chance on you. Low interest rates for anyone are things which are earned and not an entitlement. Any mechanic problems you have had or any matters concerning the collision history of the car are completely with the car dealer and have nothing to do with the lender.
The good thing about all this is you and only you can improve your credit by making each and every one of the payments on time. It will take time, of course but it is entirely up to you. There are people in this world (and you see them coming here to whine), who are serial deadbeats and remain as subprime credit risks for life. That is entirely avoidable and YOU have the power to avoid that.
This subprime lender as well as the others won't ever bother you if you pay on time. The vast, vast, vast majority of complainers here are people who don't pay their bills on time and they come here to cry and stomp their feet because they turned on the collections machine. Hopefully, you are smart enough and a cut above the rest to avoid this!
Just in case you're wondering, I am not an employee of this lender nor the dealership.
