I called to file a claim for our air condition which is covered under our warranty contract with 2-10. Paid $75.00 to the contractor and he stated that the coil was leaking and that he would notify 2-10.   2-10 calls and claims that this was a pre-existing condition, when in fact their contract states that there is a 30 day waiting period, and we had fulfilled those thirty days, but they stated that it would not be covered.

The representative promised that I could get a full refund.wE CALLED BACK IMMEDIATELY. THE Rep told us to write to office of the president & e-mail office of the president, email adddress came back error. They also said we need to read our contract Which we never got until 3 weeks later, they claimed we sould have received it with in 7-10 business days.

My husband googled the address to the company that 2-10 dispactched to us and we found oout that this guy works from home, he does not have an actual business with other employees. This company is a ripoff and should be taken to court for their illegal loopholes. then when i tried to call to have our contract voided they stated that it needs to be in.writing.

This is a bate & switch company, BUYER BEWARE!!

Warrenty

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 23, 2014

You have to understand, the American consumer has this misimpression that a warrenty covers EVERYTHING!!! That's as far from the truth as it gets. Ok so you waited the 30 days, doesn't mean it still wasn't a pre-existing problem. Warrenty companies no longer fall for the "Oh it JUST happened" line. We all know better and so do they. Odds are that the coil has been leaking for sometime, as coils tend to leak SLOWLY. So the PROBLEM is a pre-existing issue. Just because YOU waited the 30 days doesn't mean that they are going to honor a warrenty that was pretty much taken out in "bad faith" by you the consumer. If you KNEW about the leak then what you are doing would be FRAUD.

If you DID NOT know about the leak, then its too bad because it IS a pre-existing problem NOT covered by the warrenty that you purchased. While it sucks for YOU, it IS perfectly legal for them to deny your claim. It is VERY common for the American Consumer to do EXACTLY what you have done here. They get a warrenty then suspiciously appliance "develop" problems. In order for you to have gotten this fixed under the warrenty that you purchased, you would have had to pay roughly six months on your warrenty without any claims against it. While its nice to think that a warrenty is a "cover all" for your home problems, there is some reality that MUST intrude. Think of your home warrenty as having a BUDGET.

Ok so you waited 30 days BEFORE you submitted a claim. Doesn't it seem awful coincidental that right after 30 days, one of the most expensive for a consumer to fix appliances just happens to go out?? You have made what maybe one or two payments?? THIS is WHY they declined your claim. You will just have to get used to the "new" warrenty structures going around. They NO LONGER fall for the "just happened" line. THEY KNOW THAT THE AMERICAN CONSUMER WILL LIE, CHEAT, AND STEAL TO GET AHEAD!!! And getting ahead in THIS case is using a NEWLY purchased warrenty to fix your busted AC. Once you have had a warrenty for about a year with ZERO claims, then you can make claims against it and get them successfully filled.

You can TRY and get them to reverse their descion but it wont help. As a warrenty is a form of contract and what you are doing is a type of fraud, you can be assured that you are going to find it difficult to get another insurance company to pick you up without a MASSIVE cost. You did know there is a warrenty fraud database right?? Lastly and in closing.........GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!!!! You bash the SKILLED WORKMAN they sent you to because they did not have employees or a shop?? WOW!!! What kind of PRUDE are YOU?? Ever hear of this little thing called a "HOME BUSINESS"?? You know, EXACTLY like the ones that our great forefathers had when they started the US?

THEY created an entire nation and a constitution all the while.....wait for it......WORKING FROM HOME!!!!! Perhaps YOU truly are a scammer. You discount one of the oldest ways for an American Citizen to make it in the US. And Im NOT talking the oldest profession. NOT every person can get that loan for 200k to cover all the fees associated with opening up a store front. My own father used our storage shed for almost 10 years while he saved up enough to get a store front. Awful kind of YOU to bash someone who went to school for AC/Heating repair and probably has to put in 10-14 hour days. THEY get the task of putting up with prudes like YOU who thinks that a store front means a successful business.

Talk about narrow minded and blind. Im betting YOU have never had to make the hard choices. Im betting YOU have never had to fight to be successful. That's the ONLY reason I can see for your disdain of someone operating their business from home. YOU have not ever had to DO anything like make something out of NOTHING! Perhaps YOU would like to BASH APPLE? Or ANY business that had to start up and work from home. There have been MANY businesses that have started up and run out of someones home. If you have EVER shopped online odds are that you have dealt with a person who is trying to make a business and cant afford a store front. Heres a little dirt in your eye....Ever hear of this tiny little company called AMAZON???? Yeah they were a home based business as well.
