I had a bail bonds Mr.John Wyrick bail me out of jail. I gave him 2 rings and $340.00 in cash. My bail was $1,000.00 cash. I asked him if I could give him that in till I got released and he said yes. So that left me owing him $660.00. This happened on a Friday I told him that I would have all his money to him by Sunday. He said that was fine. On Saturday I called him to let him know that I had $567.00 that he could come by or I could meet him to give him the rest of the money. He told me that he was out of town and that he would be by on Sunday to pick it up. So when he came he took $565.00 and told me that was good that we was cool and all I owed him was $100.00. I called him later that night and told him that I had $50.00 and he told me that he wasn't in my area I even told him that he could meet me at work. He said that was okay that he didn't want to come on my job like that. So on Tuesday he called me and I told him that I had $70.00 in cash that we could meet so he could get it. I told him I was at school and he can stop bye after I got out of class he said that was fine. I called him and told him I was going to eat lunch with my kids at their school but he could come to the school to pick up the money. He said that he had something come up and for me to call him when I left. I had another appointment that I would get my mom to meet him and he said ok. Well at 3:00pm. So my mom met him at 3pm and gave him the $70.00. At 4:30pm the cops was knocking on my door saying that my bail bonds revoked my bond. So I called him and he said he would meet me at the police station. He gave me 1 ring back n said that it was fake. He only gave $70.00 in cash. Can someone please tell me what to do. He kept all the money and 1 of my rings and I'm a single parent can u please lead me n the right direction.

A Bail Bonds John Wyrick

AUTHOR: John Wyrick - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 12, 2011

I am the accused ripoff artist John Wyrick. I do remember very well how this transaction transpired and am writing this rebuttal in my defense. Samantha did give me the amounts she said she did. The problem is she only mentioned the part that makes me look bad.....not the part about what I told her would happen if I found out the ring that she said appraised for over $10,000 wasn't real.

When I first saw the 'diamond' I had questions about if it were genuine or not. I took the ring for collateral for the $10,000 bond but also told her if I found out that it was not real I would revoke her bond. Bail bondsmen take collateral frequently to cover bonds. Her mom only receives disability and had no way to pay the 10k if Samantha were to 'skip out' on me. When I bonded her she had recently returned from Hawaii where she had been in trouble there also. After a few days of wanting to believe the ring was real I got a chance to take it to a very reputable Jeweler in Wytheville Va. I told him of my concerns. He looked at me with a smirk.  After carefully examined the ring, he looked at me and said "It clearly has the letters CZ (Cubic Zirconium) stamped on the mounting". I asked him if he were sure and he said "absolutely sure."  I felt that I was justified by revoking the bond at this time because she had misrepresented the value of the ring after  all..... bail bonding is based on truth and trust.

I work for someone like most people that work for a living. The company receives 50% of what I bring in on bonds and there is an additional 10% that I have to deposit in a 'build-up fund. I could have given her a refund of my commission but felt that it was  unnecessary because I felt that if she lied about the ring I could not trust her and had every right to revoke the bond. I did meet with her mom later that day and returned both rings. I also have a receipt that her mother signed  when I returned the other ring.
