Aaron's Rent To Own Ripoff Jacksonville Florida

2 years ago I had an account with this company; purchased a Dell computer. In October of this year Aaron's showed up at my new house (result of skip tracing I am sure) demanding a product return. I was not home at the time but my mother did not let them in as they didnt have any documentation stating this. I called them and they threatened that if I did not return the product in 2 business days a lawsuit would be filed. I took this seriously as I know there is a law against rental theft.

I returned the computer and got a letter from the management stating it had been returned and that no collection will be pursued. In November I received a copy of my credit report and saw that Aaron's had attached the full charge of the computer to my report in May 2004! Why was I never informed of this; to my knowledge they do not report to any credit bureaus unless their contract and ads just lie outright. Why would they even threaten me if they already damaged my life by putting it on my credit report. Liars!

Now I am in the headached process of contacting the corporate and regional offices to get this straightened out and I am having TransUnion investigate it. This is one big headache. I gues they think I am stupid or something; that I wont pursue this to the utmost. Hopefully, this will be resolved.
