Apple Inc HD CINEMA 30" DISPLAY $2000.00 worth 6 month!!Internet

On March 29 we purchased a 30" HD CINEMA DISPLAY manufactured by APPLE Inc. ($1988.75 after taxes)

On August 17 the unit stopped working and was left aside, protected by blanket, to avoid possible damage to the display.

On august 23 it was scheduled a visit to APPLE store in the Grove Mall.

When arrived there, the "Genius" (Name given to their technichians) could make the unit power UP, however; the LCD display showed ALL CRACKED!!!

In mean time it was set aside, was totally protected with blankets, and on time of travel to the STORE it had the screen facing up, with no way it could be hit or get any impact to the screen.

In the store, the "GENIUS" told me it was out of his power to "HONOR" their waranty! and advised me to call the Customer service number in order to try have it fixed.Also "GENIUS" told price for damaged/defective part should be aroun $800.00!!

After contacting customer service number of APPLE, the 1st tier representative told me THERE WAS NO WARRANTY WHATSOEVER, because I was using the monitor with a PC!!!!, and after putting me on hold for about 50 minutes, the connection got discconnected!

Called again and asked to talk to a supervisor, which told me they have no way to warranty a $2000.00 product!

My options:
Pay $800.00 plus labor and have it fixed at their store.
Pay $???.00 plus labor and have it fixed elsewhere.
Pay nothing and "EAT" a loss of $2000.00 product they sold defective.
