My new Apple iPhone6 (1 week old) fell off the coffee table and the screen shattered. After owning Apple phones 4 and 5 for 4 years with NO issues, the iPhone 6 broke within the first week! I called Apple Customer Service, and even went to two difrerenct Apple Stores and spoke to the Managers, and got the same response. Apple waived any responsibility, and would rather TAKE my monen again. I had to pay out of pocket ($110) or use one of my 2 Apple Care credits + $80 to replace the screen. I chose to not use my Apple Care in case something really serious happens. AppleCare is another rip-off...you only get to use the insurance TWICE??? and it costs you $80 each time? That's not what I call insurance, that's what I call price gouging. From my experiance, the iPhone 6 is clearly inferior, given the screen breaks with little effort. I just finished shelling out $800 for 2 iPhone 6s and Apple Care on May 3, and by May 11, a simple tumble cost me another $110. Fortunately, I plan to return the phone for a full refund since I am within 14 days of the purchase date, and will lose $100 for phone activation, and $110 to repair the screen...but at least I will cut my losses. In my opinion, the iPhone 6 is a rip-off, and Apply clearly does not stand by it's product, otherwise, it would have replaced the screen at their cost given the circumstances. It appears Apple cannot beat the competition, so it makes them phone slimmer by making the glass thinner? at the expense of the CONSUMER who will have to pay for cracked screens. It's a shame Apple has no concept of Customer Service, and would rather hoard all it's cash and charge outrageous prices, then fix the phone at their expense. There is no reason the screen should have broken...it's just that plain and simple. The iPhone 6 is hardly a phone, it's a financial liability to own. Buyer Beware.

It's not made of iron

“If I sold you a car and the wheels broke while you were driving it off the lot, wouldn't u take it back and demand they fix or return it?”
If you want to use an automobile as an analogy, ok. The wheels didn’t break; you drove the car into a tree.
“Are you a member of the twenty-something club of employees at Apple…?”
No.
“Apple has misrepresented the product as a 'phone'”
My iPhone 6 works great. Apple didn’t misrepresent it to me or the other 75 million customers that purchased them in the first three months they were on the market.
I see you evaded my challenge about the 12” high coffee table and your failure to read the user guide. It suffered a much higher drop.
Enjoy your iPhone. It's a masterpiece of technology.

That's correct...I did not read Page 168

That's correct, I did not read Page 168 that states this phone is not a phone and will easily break. I forgot to bring my overnight camping gear and some food to sit down and read 168 pages of the User Manual. Is Page 168 the last page? Why is such a 'stand up' company burying the most important piece of information on page 168? And why aren't Sales Reps disclosing this to the Consumer? Is this because Apple generates millions in revenue off it's broken phones? It's not hard to figure this out...so I wish folks would stop blaming the Consumer when something breaks, and take a good look at the Manufacturer, at their business practices, and how they disclose information to the consumer. You are all entitled to support these price-gouging practices, but don't ridicule me. You were'nt there when the phone fell off the table...I was. And I claim there was no reason the phone should have broken. The glass clearly had a flaw, and Apple was 100% unwilling to fix it. End of story. These facts will never change. BUYER BEWARE.

Apple does not ethically disclose iPhone is easy to break

Oh...did u say PAGE 168 of the Apple User Guide informs the consumer to not drop their phone? Do the Apple Reps disclose this when they are eagerly taking my $800? Buried deep in their documentation is probably the single most important piece of information that a Consumer would need to know. This is exactly to my point....Apple prefers u break ur phone so u pay for the repairs. Apple is not ethical in their disclosures, and Apple Sales Reps do not disclose these important facts. I can't wait for the 400 page Users Guide to come out!!!

It appears some folks think Apple can do no wrong? Why is that? Are you a member of the twenty-something club of employees at Apple who have no respect and understanding of making a quality product? And have u no understanding of what 'Customer Service' means? Apple has misrepresented the product as a 'phone' when it's no better than a piece of pottery. Good luck with that. And keep watching the news...the iWatch is a complete flop.

Handle with care

“No phone at this price should break from a fumble or fall from a 12" high table break”
Dropped from a 12” high coffee table? Do you own a tape measure? Measure it again.
“Nobody is standing inside the Apple stores buying watches. Especially when they r made of glass”
Most watch crystals are made of glass.
“Nowhere did Apple state in the contract that the I6 was a piece of pottery.”
Equipment care is not a function of the contract. Apparently you failed to read the user guide.
Excerpt from page 168 of the iPhone user guide:
Handle iPhone with care. It is made of metal, glass, and plastic and has sensitive electronic components inside. iPhone can be damaged if dropped, burned, punctured, or crushed, or if it comes in contact with liquid.
Now you know.

You entitled to ur opinion

Don't get me wrong...you're entitled to throw ur money away if u want to. I stand by my 40 years of buying products and services. It's all about quality, and the iPhone 6 screen made by Apple is lacking in quality. Period. Nowhere did Apple state in the contract that the I6 was a piece of pottery. I want a durable phone. No phone at this price should break from a fumble or fall from a 12" high table break...especially when it's called a 'Phone'. As for the iWatch...balony. Nobody is standing inside the Apple stores buying watches. Especially when they r made of glass that will surely break too. Like I said...give Apple all ur money, and ur kinds college money too...that's ur prerogative. But, BUYER BEWARE. I wouldn't be surprised to see a class action on this soon.

IPhone 6 breaks too easily, or had micro flaws in screen

The Phone broke because of its flawed design. If I sold you a car and the wheels broke while you were driving it off the lot, wouldn't u take it back and demand they fix or return it? Of course you would. Clearly in my opinion the iPhone 6 is too fragile to carry and use as a phone. IPhone 5 was more durable. Perhaps the 6 should be hung in a safe place on a wall to display pictures. A company deserves to make a profit if they sell a quality product. And any nobel company would fix their defective product rather the stick it to the consumer. Ethics 101.

Not a RipOff...

There is no reason the screen should have broken
- You mean other than the reason you dropped it on the ground? You see iPhones, don't just "fall" off of tables. I mean you didn't have the phone on the table and were chilling out in the other room when the phone took on a life of it's own and just jumped off of the coffee table..right?
The fact is that just like the iPhone 4, iPhone 5, the iPhone 6 screen is made of glass. In all cases glass can break if struck in certain ways.
If this was a "real" problem with the iPhone you can bet it would have made national news by now. After all, they launched the Apple Watch just a few short weeks ago and within a couple of days after launch it was national news that if you had a wrist tattoo that some features won't work. The iPhone 6 has been out since September...

“Apple demands money to repair their flawed phone... In my opinion, the iPhone 6 is a rip-off”
That isn’t a flaw or a rip-off. You broke it. The warranty does not cover abuse or improper handling.
