Ordering flowers online should not require the consumer to conduct due diligence on the company. If you ordering from Avas , however, due diligence is required and the company is not recommended.  Ava's Flowers is not a local business unless you live in New City, NY. If you google "city X, state Y flower delivery", to order from a local shop to ensure timely delivery, Avas Flowers will grab the querty and provide a return as if it were a local business in the target city and state.  They are not.  They are middle-man in New City, NY.  They will confirm your delivery, charge you for express delivery, bill your credit card, but do not disclose that they have a "Flex" delivery scheduel which means they will not delivery the flowers when you ask them to.  I'm pretty sure their call center is in India, becaues the person had never even heard of "Maine", so expect no help from them. 

Lesson: if you want to order from an online florits, stick with flowers.com. If you want to order from a local florist to ensure timely local delivery, place the order with mom & pop flower shop on the phone.

And report Avas Flowers to your local attorney general becuase this is the definition of deceptive trade practices.
