June 25th, we went to our local BB&T branch to have a wire transfer which just about wiped out 'savings out.
June 26th we were charged $3.95 for OLB as well as a $25.00 maintenance fee. I have a small personal account used for online purchases and that acct. is the one they targeted. Next thing I knew, they deposited $100 to cover over draft charges Check Enclosure Fees of $3.00 (which I never 'ok'd'.

I called the bank many times, talked to the online bank people, went to local branch, got the charge for the $25.00, $3.00 and the $3.95 credited back but the overdraft advancement was still lingering and accruing interest fees.

Then again the next month another $3.95 was charged to my account (for the use of Quicken or MS Money neither of which we have). As of yesterday 8/25/2007 the overdraft account had been resolved.

Today I go online to see if perhaps the $3.95 has been resolved and get a disclaimer notice that is 13 pages long..with the option to AGREE or DECLINE.I declined due to several red flag paragraphs and it said because I declined I can not access my account (Online it is a hostage situation..totally wrong!

Is it just BB$T or have all the banks gone this route?
since typing that last sentence..I see from this site..Wachovia, Bank of America and others are guilty of fraudulent charges..Banks are stooping to all time low stealing money from hard working senior citizens...Noooo not just us old ones..ANYONE!!!

Online banking

Have you ever used Quicken or anather PFM software? If you did, the reason you got the $3.95 was because the bank's system showed you as accessing your information through the software. Many banks are now passing on the fee to the customers. You should be able to contact the bank's online banking customer service and have your software de-enrolled from their system. Then you should be able to access your bank's online banking site and download your info into the software. Just don't use the software to access the website.
As for the disclaimer/agreement, every bank will have one for their online banking. It will spell out what they will provide and what you need to do. if you disapprove the agreement then you will not be able to use their online banking. I understand there may be paragraphs in the agreement that you do not like, however if you don't accept the agreement the bank has the right to not let you use their product.
And yes I do work for a bank, but it is not BB&T.
