The bank has charged me $396 in overdraft fees but there was no overdraft! I have went to many levels of the bank and no one has a valid response, or an answer as to why I was charged like I was! My paycheck is direct deposited and will be enough to cover the fraudulant fees, but it does not allow me to pay my bills now, or supply my kids with food, school supplies, or even gas for my commute. I am left completley broke with no cushion to fall back on, and the bank has done nothing to fix their error! I am livid! I need my money back and this issue resolved. I feel like I am working to pay the bank emplyees salaries while my kids starve.

Mine and Theirs

My record was $8.16 the day the overdraft fees went in ..... The banks calculation was $8.60 but going by mine was after EVERY purchase was withdrawn as I spent..... So there should never of been an overdraft! The overdraft is what put my account into the negative, in which causes more overdraft fees. The situation is under investigation now, because it in deed is a bank error

Online banking is there to show you what transactions have posted, not to be your register. The ONLY way to avoid overdraft fees is to use a register, even and especially if you don't use checks. Add deposits/credits when available in the account. Subtract debits/fees when you authorize them. Keep the register balance positive and there will be NO overdraft fees.
Stop by a local branch and pick up a register or two. They're free.
Unfortunately you are doing things incorrectly. You have admitted to some: not keeping a register; using online banking as a register and not recording a transaction. The phone call was made after you had OD fees. Therefore the fee for calling came after you had OD fees. It may cause other/more fees, but did NOT cause the first set of fees. By the way, you agreed to the calling fee when you opened your account. If you continuethese actions, you will continue to pay OD fees, at any ank you have an account at.

No "Formal" Form

I do not use checks, I soley use my debit card, I do not have checks, have not ordered checks, nor did I pickup a form..... Yes I do also check consistently online for my balance as well.... Every which way it goes I was not in the wrong! The $2 fee for calling was in addition to the rest! The fee came AFTER I called about the issue per directed by the teller to do..... The fee was charged while my account was negative from the overdraft fees and caused yet another overdraft fee! The bank has caused the mess, it is their error! After they charged the first $108 in overdraft I still had $8 in my account because NOTHING was actually overdrafted but was AFTER the $108 and then a pending charge came out of my account! I had 8 pending charges and was assured they would not get fees and it was shown to me where the money had been removed from my account! However...... I got overdraft on all of them! A total of 12 in all and not one of them was over what I had in my account! I NEVER complain, I'm not an idiot, the bank wrongfully took my money and I want it back.

Register...

What the bank considers to be a "formal" register is the check register that comes with every check order and can also be picked up free at any branch. They'll also help you with how to mantain the register.
The proof that you are NOT maintaining a register is your statement "With each use I validated my calculations by checking my account for my balance, and each time the money was removed from my account." This statement shows that you were checking online banking to view your transactions. If you kept an accurate register, that is what you would look at to determine your account balance.
You say the rouble was caused by the $2 fee for calling in about the problem. What??? You couldn't know about the problem to call the bank until after the problem happened. There's no way that calling to find out about the problem can cause the problem.

I Do Keep a Record

I do keep track and write each thing I purchase down as a personal log to prevent an instance such as this...... Although it's written it's unacceptable for them because it is not "formal" and I'm not sure what exactly would consist as "formal". There was absolutely no error on my part, ever way it's added up, except THEY are relying on the computer log and it is incorrect. I apologize I misunderstood the question earlier.

Exactly As I Thought

YOU are not keeping records, are you? What I mean is a record of each and every transaction, subtracting each transaction from the previous balance, thus maintaining an on-going running balance which gives you the most accurate balance known to man. You are relying ONLY on the on-line information which DOES NOT account for debit card usage which THE MERCHANT delayed submitting. When the MERCHANT submits it, you've already spent that money and you give yourself an overdraft fee. In the final analysis, there is no fraud or scam perpetrated by the bank, and if there was, there is no way for you to prove that because you are NOT keeping written records! What has happened is you are using that debit card without having any knowledge of what your balance is. As I said before, you need to keep records of each and every usage and maintaining an on-going running balance. That is the ONLY way to manage a checking account and is the ONLY reason this problem exists.

All of my purchases were made with my debit card, and the cheesy website is not very detailed so what I can see is limited. I have most of my purchase receipts that are dated. I have not used my card since Monday when this mess came about. My payroll went in today and it covered the negative balance, but I have nothing to live on. The report that the banker pulled up showed specifics but she was not able to give me a copy because it did not have their logo or legal verbage! It's a horroble mess. All of my purchases were made as I said with my debit card.... not one single check or automatic debit. With each use I validated my calculations by checking my account for my balance, and each time the money was removed from my account. Today I see a charge that was not there yesterday but dated for yesterday, for $2 and as of yesterday my account was overdrawn with all of the fees they have charged, and the $2 was for calling the customer service number in regards to my issue, as I was instructed to do, per the bank employee! Now I am going to be charged another overdraft fee for them charging me to call about my account. I am having a really hard time keeping calm, because my kids are without while the bank is stealing my hard earned money!

What does your CHECK REGISTER show on the dates of these alleged overdrafts?
