Ive been banking with BB&T for over 3 years now. On 3 diffrent occasions they deducted overdraft fees from my account when no overdraft ever occured. At first i liked them considering when i had the issues i went into the branch and they cleared their error and returned my funds. But you would think your money is safe at a bank. How dose that happen three times to the same account?

On May 26, 2009 it happened again so i called the branch manager who at that time decided that she would rather scream and yell as opposed to help me since i am a client. I then at that time had to go into the branch because the branch manager didnt know how to be proffessional over the phone. When i got their she had already called the cops. The officer who showed up was very displeased with the manager and then gave me the information i needed to go about getting the error fixed. Which the manager should have just done in the first place. That is her job.

After my account was fixed and back active she then decided to be spiteful and put a hold on my accoutn where i couldnt use my debit card. When i called she told me if i want my money i have to come in and close my account to get. Why would i have to close my account to get my money because shes upset and she was wrong. At this point i was dont with BB&T so i went to my branch to close my account and get my money. When i get there she then decides shes gonna tell me that i cant have my money, she wouldnt give me my statement. She stated that if i wanted my statement ill never get my money because shes gonna charge me for it. Ive never heard of that let alone if a bank is gonna charge you for a statement it dosent cost 251.96. I had to call the cops out to the bank to get my money. When i told them i wanted the number to corporate to speak with them about the manager they said that BB&T dosent have a corp. I knew that was a lie so i said u have to have a corp office. She then states oh yeah but were not allowed to give out the number.

Ive had nothing but problems with this bank since i first started with them. Their unprofessional their theives and their spiteful and not willing to take responsibility for their mistakes. We put our money into banks so we dont have to worry about it being stolen and then the bank dose that exact thing. They need to take the Trust off the end of their name.

Bad Customer Service - BUT

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 30, 2009

Your problem is that the bank didn't do you wrong. You did overdraft your account through the use of a debit card. It happens when your available balance goes below $0, thereby causing the overdraft. Your account balance can remain positive throughout the process of using a debit card.

Overdrafts are not caused by your account balance going negative - it's your available balance. It would be best if you learned this FIRST before you keep storming into a bank and continuing to ask for the bank to keep giving you their money. This would not make the bank liars. It would make you someone who can't manage your bank account.

BTW - all banks are the same in this regard now, so switching banks will not help you out. Keep a check register and stop using a debit card, and you will not have this problem any longer.

I have not a clue where the rip off is because I cannot comprehend your report because YOU have no clue on how to spell or generate a statement
Once you learn to then come back and write a report than can be read

You need to go to the corp website

AUTHOR: Sam - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 29, 2009

Go to the corp. website. The corporate address is on there.

Call one of other branches, and find out who the regional manager is. They need to know their branch manager is acting like this. There's no excuse for such behavior.

I know from recent experience that there is something quirky with their holding system because they charged me NFS fees because a hold wasn't released when I transfered money from checking to savings. Systems need regular software updates. Now maybe it was having an update when the error occured to your account, or maybe it needed another one. I don't know, I don't work with BB&T IT.
The problem that I can see after my recent experience is something is catching with their updating systems, and in certain instances someone may deserve one NFS (a lot have done it, and accept it) but in fact they may be getting charged more than once. It's important to keep an active balanced check register and to verfiy when items clear and post to the account using the online banking system so you don't have to wait until the end of the month to reconcile and in case things just like this happen.
Just because a person's checking account register says you have money, doesn't mean the bank has the same record. And they'll be the ones all to quick to penalize you for something that could be their error.

What a nut

Sounds like that woman had completely lost her mind. I've never had a problem with BB&T (then again I had Bank Of America for a long time and after that, any bank will seem like saints) but it sounds like you had more of a problem with that crazy woman.
