If you come across BestBuy.com avoid it like the plague. These con artists love to pass the buck and blame everyone else but themselves for their lack or professionalism, ethics, negligence and incompetence.

On Novermber 20th 2005, I purchased a 50 inch Magnavox DLP Widescreen High Definition TV thru BestBuy.com after noticing that BestBuy.com had it cheaper than the store itself and unlike the store offered free delivery and a free gift.

On November 26th, I received my TV, but after a few days it began acting up and I called Magnavox who thn sent one of its authorized service technicians to my house to look at the TV and try and troubleshoot the problems. After telling that this problems was unique and that he never encountred such problem before, he advised that I return the TV and pcik up another one.

That's when my problems started. I called Best Buy.com and they told me I could return the TV to the nearest store. I told them all I wanted was to exchange it for another TV which functioned properly and he told me that it could be done at the store. So to the store I went and explained my problem to which they told me I had to pay for another TV and pay to have it delivered and when they delivered it they would take the defective one and issue me a refund.

A few days later my new and paid for TV arrived by truck and the driver took the old one, put in a box, signed a return reciept for the defective TV and left.

I went back to the store two days later to get a refund on my wife's credit card for the defective TV and I was told I had to call BestBuy.com and they would take care of this refund. It's been over a month and several calls and emails to BestBuy.com later, we still haven't see our refund.

Everytime we call or all we hear is that they are going to look into it or they are going to refer the matter to their Research Department and get back to us, which they never have

I have a collection of emails from BestBuy.com telling me the same thing over and over - that the matter is being investigated by their Research Dept and they will contact me with the results soon, but like on the phone calls, they never bother getting back to us.

In the meantime, my wife and I are making payments on a credit card for a TV which hasn't been in our possession for over a month. Interest is kicking in and late charges are already due because I didn't make the required minimum payment because I thought that the refund would come soon after we returned the TV.

I wonder if I am alone in this matter or if there is anything I can do to have these rip-off artists pay for their arrogance and neglect. I am considering a lawsuit against this company. Anyone else out there having similar problems? Any ideas on how I can bring this to the attention of the proper authorities???
