I am a victim of fraud from Caliber home loans. My Husband and I  initially purchased the property through Beneficial (locally) in 2001. We had purchased additional insurance on the agreement so if my husband or I were hurt or passed on the property would be paid for. It was good till I had recieved a notice in 2013 that Caliber home loans will be taking over and my payments need to go to them starting new year of 2014.

I contacted Beneficial to confirm this, then contacted Caliber home loans. Caliber told me that my initial agreement with Beneficial is staying the same, just my payments would go to Caliber. It was ok for bit then in June 2015 my husband passed on, I called and notified Caliber the bad news. The response i got was that i had to purchase aditional insurance before he passed that it isn't in my agreement. We went through a disagreement over this. I filed for bankruptcy Chapter 7 to make payments and avoid hassles of expenses of my husbands passing, and his other debts. I was in bankruptcy for a year.

I spoke to few people at Caliber to set things up for modification being loss of husband paid a shortage of income. I was informed to not to make payments until all forms are submitted for modification. It took Caliber over a year to get modification set up. Assured me that a modification would be the best thing for me, I needed to make Payments as a trail for 3 months(they were higher than my actual mortgage payment), Before they could decide if i was accepted for modification. I was informed after 2 months of paying trail fee on modification that my property was going to foreclosure. I called Calliber to see why when i am doing trail for modification.Their response was that payments have fallen to far behind. They told me a few options of Short sale or Deed of leiu. I went for Short sale, got everything set and maybe had few offers on property.

It was about a week after starting short sale a sheriff shows up giving me papers that property was going to Sheriff sale on Aug 2016. I was down to my last draw on what to do. Couldn't stand aguing with Caliber any longer. I moved out of property. It did go for Sheriff sale.

It just urks me that they delay on processes and when that property should have been mine after husbands passing. Even proving the initial agreement(Beneficial) on my copy. I couldn.t afford a lawyer or court fees to take further action on these matters. I would not refer anyone, not even my worst enemy to go through Caliber home loans. They just take your property then get their loss on taxes.
