Early yesterday evening I received a phone call from Calyspo Cay Resorts claiming that I was the Grand Prize Winner of an all expense paid trip to the Bahamas and Florida with all costpaid for goinf to disney land or universal studios.I was told it was there birthday and i was a winner from a random number call. The caller spent about 15 minutes highlighting to inclusions of my trip, when asked what the catch i was told there was no catch it a free holiday.

Later they told me that in keeping with Florida laws I would have to give them some money for the trip, $598 for 4 for about a 2 week vacation. That I could take the trip at any time in the next 12 months and the prize was fully transferrable and extandable.

When I mentioned that it didnt feel write and i dont think i could make it that i need to think about it they said It's once in a life time Free offer and that i could not put that kind of money on it, I was told that I could get my money back at any time within 30 days of purchase no questions asked, should I or my parents (the cardholders) decide that package was not for us.

I was still skeptical, I was given the private line and extension of the Promotions Director, with the guarantee that I could call at any time if I had any problems.

I was put through to the Legal Department where I was 'recorded' verifying the terms, I was asked not to ask any questions during this process. I was told that an invoice for the cost was being forwarded to my email account 'as we spoke'. The terms were for the holiday, 30 days return money, that a customer care line was available and that I agreed to $598 being charged. Iwas not informed that this was 598 USD, equating to $798 AUD.

When I got off the phone I went to my email account and found no invoice, I found the website to be lacking any real information. At this point I tried to call the numbers I had been given (which were supposed to be available between 4pm-12pm EST) and found both of them disconnected.

I cancelled my credit card at the bank straight away, but the payment has pending and there and they couldnt stop it. its still be investigating, but am not sure of my chances of recovering the funds. i went on the web when i got home to check out this resort and under it thats when i found all the scams years ago which dated back to 2005 and its now 2008 and these people are still getting away with this where do people have to be so bad in life im only 23 im struggling with my morgage and car repayments as well as getting married next year i didnt need a scam like this, i need a holiday which is what thought i was getting, can anyone help me?

I have been unable to contact Calypso Cay by phone but I have contacted them by email customerservice@calypsocay.com they have told me that if I return the vacation package they sent with a letter of cancellation they will refund my money. I have done this and await my refund.

Offcourse, I videoed what went back in the package and registered the parcel in case they dispute what was returned and when they received it. If this is unsuccessful, I will request my bank charge-back my visa card this must be done ASAP but in any case within 60 days. I will, as you can, also lodge complaints with Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services who have been very helpful greenjp@doacs.state.fl.us
