On April 18, 2008, I signed a mortgage agreement with the E-Loan Mortgage Company.  As part of that agreement,  I was permitted to cancel my escrow payments (and make payments for taxes and insurance directly to the taxing authorities and insurance carrier) at any time.
My  mortgage note was subsequently resold  by E-Loan Mortgage Company to Popular Mortgage Company, and within a matter of days Popular then resold to the Citimortgage (the present holder of the mortgage).

The Citimortgage then sent me a letter in which it informed  the I, Svetlana Kudina, that she should henceforth make my payments to Svetlana Kudina (i.e., to myself).
I continue to make the required payments to the  Citimortgage, including escrow payments, in the amount of $1,662.12 per month, representing the mortgage payment of $1,408.12 per month with an additional $254.00 for escrow payments.
On May 22, 2009, I was notified by Citimortgage that the escrow payments  would increase  starting with the June 1, 2009 payment, an additional $209.00, bringing the  total demand for payment to $1,870.92.
This increase was said by the defendant to be due to an increase in property taxes.   The basis for this purported increase appeared  to be excessive in that during the relevant time period property values had dramatically decreased which should have led to a reduction in taxes (and escrow fees) due.
Upon  receipt of this notification, I immediately notified representatives of the  Citimortgage that the escrow account would be canceled making me personally responsible for payment of the property taxes.  I also then successfully challenged the increased property tax valuation and assessment with the taxing authorities, and  in June 2009 paid all of my property taxes in full, including pre-payment for the second half of 2009.

I have continued to make my regularly scheduled mortgage payments to Citimortgage and my tax and insurance payments directly to the taxing authorities and insurance carriers as they became due.
Despite the positive status of the my account (both with the mortgagee and with the taxing and insurance authorities), the defendant Citimortgage In c.  initiated mortgage foreclosure procedures. See case #CV-10-5887-RBL in US District Court For The Western District Of Washington.
