I too was a poor sucker who fell for credit one's scam, i have good credit, and have 2 capital one cards, i glanced at it, and thought for sure it was capital one. however, i get a card in the mail, and it's credit one, the next day, i get the bill, not even activated yet, for 100.00 for fee's. i call, cannot get ahold of a englishmen to cancel. they refuse to cancel the card. i send it back in shreds with a nice little note. they still send me a bill the next month. i turned them in to the comptroller of the united states currency, they liscense these snakes.

well, guess what, within a month, i get a nice little note from the president saying how sorry he is and that my card is cancelled.  if you are the same boat, this is what you need to do. make sure your balance is 0.00. send a letter to cancel, with the card cut up. registered. if they refuse, make your complaint to the ftc, and the comptroller of the currency of the united states. and the attorney general of your state. if all else fails, you will have enough ammo to sue in small claims court and get a judgement for 1000.00 per offense. your welcome

Class Action Suit (ATTENTION)

AUTHOR: RJones - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2012

I would be willing to present our case to an attorney in Las Vegas and begin formal proceedings against Credit One Bank. To do so we need to have a list of customers and their complaints well defined (short and to the point). Once we aggregate all the information I will submit to appropriate Attorney's general, Bank and Finance Divisions etc.

I don't know if I am allowed given the T/C's for Ripoff Report to reference my email address for compiling all the complaints, but here we go. rod.jones404@gmail.com

I think posting the late fee of $27.00 THE DAY BEFORE THE DUE DATE  is probably illegal.  Also not posting the payment  and holding it to make it late is illegal..write your Attoreny General

" They do appear to attempt to make themselves look a lot like Capital One, and the people who fall for that are also people who are not going to take the time to read ALL of the disclosures. "

Seeing as the OP did not even bother to read the name of the company whose application he/she filled out, it's no surprise that the terms and conditions went unread.

There are entire industries that are built on the fact that people will not make the slightest effort to look out for their own interests.   Sadly, no one else is going to do it for them.

That was a positive?

The previous post was hardly "positive" toward Credit One and if you were actually around this site you would realize how silly your comment about Jeanski working for some reputation management company was.

They do appear to attempt to make themselves look a lot like Capital One, and the people who fall for that are also people who are not going to take the time to read ALL of the disclosures.  Because I can just about guarantee you that the offer you received also contained a disclosure of the interest and ALL of the fees including this $100 fee.

So if Capital One wants to sue them(if they haven't all ready) for copyright infringement that is between them and Capital One.  But under what law are you thinking you can sue them for $1000 per offense? (I have my suspicions, just curious as to what you think they are).

credit one has hired a online reputation damage control company. even one positive against this company is a lie. don't believe no positives, they are none, just try to call them on the phone. do the american thing and sue them in your local courts, maybe they will get the message.

not a rip off

I am no fan of Credit One, because I think their logo is misleading - like you said, it looks a lot like Capitol One.

However, once you accepted the card you did, in effect, agree to the ridiculous fee (which I thought was $75 but maybe it went up to $100). This is too high for my tastes, but it's not illegal.
