They send out application/pre approvals with the same style logo and even card choices as Capital One, so the whole time you're thinking you're signing up with Capital One. They gave me a credit line of 400$ and charged me 75$ the very same day I opened the account. I did some research before calling the company and I was horrified with the things being said and the illegal charges this company is doing. How were they ever licensed to do this ?!? This is a SCAM!!!!!!! 75$ !!! And I haven't even used it !! On top of that their interest rate is ridiculously high. As high as the person who came up with this idea. But not as high as those who approved this scam. They are trying to force me to pay these 75$ and I have not even used the card. And they won't let me close the line either. What can I do about this.

File Arbitration in Jams

AUTHOR: Ripoffreport former member - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, January 07, 2016

Let me tell you as a customer they will never close the account until its time for collections. Guess who owns Credit One? Lvnv debt collectors, which is adjacent to Credit One on Pilot Road in Las Vegas. Do yourself a favor: File a complaint with the www.cfpb.gov and then file arbitration per the rules on the contract, which are all located on the cfpb. Jams website is www.jamsadr.com. Otherwise Narine Yenovkian, their attorney, will ruin your credit for years to come.

Gentlemen stop with all this BS going back and forth like u said 1st graders[Robert]...Gabe why didn't you read the C1 material enclosed ? C1 followed protocol mandated by the Feds to provide credit for ones that need to restructure their credit, it's a legit operation as trey gave you the correct numbers on C1 Credit payment structure

Companies have & will keep disclosures extremly tight to regulations , with ID theft rising ,scammers getting a clue on what works, so it's mando to read all info provided by the company & keep all disclosures .

Disclosures can be difficult to read or even comprehend [words you have trouble with ] I have 2 suggestions  1. Google it  2. read the Dictionary -Highly recommended > Great 4 learning how to > spell, pronouce, definition, incorporated in a sentence & many more.

Bottom Line   R E A D   T H E  M A T E R I A L

Amazing....

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

Now, I can guarantee you of a few things.  First, no one that posted here works for them.  As that is standard operating procedure that when someone says something that they don't want to hear they accuse them of working for the company.  I think I personally have been accused of working for a couple dozen companies.

Second, if someone comes here and their first complaint is about how similar that their logo looks to another company did not read everything that was sent.  No, matter how much they try to convice others...or perhaps they are just trying to convice themselves.

Next, you did receive ALL of the information on the fees and interest in the application, and it is all 100% legal.  How do I know this...because that is part of FEDERAL regulations to receive these disclosures.  So unless you are saying that they are breaking Federal law, this is just another case of a "sub-prime" borrower so happy that someone is actually offering them a credit card they ignore everything else.  Of course if you are accusing them of breaking Federal Law, go to your local media, newspapers, government officials.  Perhaps you could even be the lead defendent in a "Class Action Lawsuit".  Bring these people down....right?

Oh and don't come here and try to convince us that you have perfect credit and can get any credit card you want. As I am sorry to say but "Platinum" is just another marketing ploy as well to make you feel better about the credit card you have.

CreditOne Bank

AUTHOR: Trey23 - (USA)

This report has some issues. I also received a pre screened offer from this company. While the rates and fees are higher than average the company is completely honest about them. It clearly states in bold print on the application what the rates are and that the first year of membership is a fee of $75 and that each year following that it is $99 billed monthly at $8.25. Also, like was pointed out in another comment, although the logo and name is similar to CapitalOne there are obvious differences. Always read the information thoroughly before signing up for anything, especially when applying for credit.

Actually I did read what was to be read.. And I noticed the difference difference in the wording .. But being that you're so very aware of what I received in MY mail I shouldn't have much else to say... Back of the paper didn't say much and surely nothing about a 75$ monthly annual fee ... What is that even ?! And after reading numerous reviews and quite a few of them seem to be in agreement with what I said here... You may not work for them... Whole scam might've been your idea. Good bye.

It All Points To ONE Thing

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 24, 2015

...and yes, its laughable!  There's a HUGE difference between the words "CREDIT" and "CAPITAL".  If someone takes the time to actually READ the paperwork, they can see that.  Even a first grader can tell the difference.  You then blame them because again YOU failed to read the disclosures which are included with ALL credit card offers.  For example, YOU failed to read the high APR.  Not only that, YOU failed to read when and how the activation fee comes into play.  There's NO SCAM here.  If YOU would have actually READ what you were agreeing to BEFORE you agreed to it, then YOU wouldn't be here whining about it and blaming them for YOUR obvious failures!

Let me save you some effort...don't bother writing something mindless in return such as: "you must work for them."  I'll save you the trouble...I don't!

NO RIPOFF HERE.  NO SCAM HERE.

The complainer failed to read what they were getting into BEFORE they agreed to it!
