I received a overdraft notification from the Bank 3 days ago with a charge of $244.45 that had been withdrawn. When I looked at my account online I found that it was to DIRECTTV. I never authorized the withdrawal!!! I immediately contacted DIRECTTV and was informed that there was nothing that they or I could do. I spoke with one representative and she informed me that I received an e-mail that they would be doing this for money owed. I informed her that the only e-mail I received was that my bill was ready for viewing. She then informed me that I could speak to her supervisor.

Her supervisor then informed me that in April they sent out a new customer service agreement (that I had not signed much less seen) stating that any account that had a credit card on filed would be charged automatically for money owed them. I never gave them my debit card information I used it to pay my bill on line and this is where they got their information. I never had reaccurring payments setup I paid it one month at a time.

I informed him that they withdrew funds from my checking account without authorization and they had taken my card information from my internet account, I informed him that I had never received any paper mail from them and had complained about that very thing, he then told me that there was a verbal agreement but you have to talk to someone to get that which I never did.

If I had received this new so called customer agreement I would have taken my debit card information off of my account and informed him of this. I do not know what to do to get my money back. Will my bank help me or should I just follow through with DIRECTTV?

I don't know details of your situation, but they charged me when they had the equipment in their possession and they charged me less than 3 weeks after cancellation when their holier than thou agreement says 30 days until they charge you.
