We bought our car in july of 2003. The day after we bought the car, the problems started. The car was leaking radiator fluid, which caused it to overheat.
The car also had an electrical problem where the wipers come on whenever they want and the daytime driving lights flicker on and off. Both of these problems were noted the day after we bought.
The radiator problem was fixed that day. To this day the electrical problems have never even been looked at. The other problems have included a large piece of rubber comming off one tire and hitting our windshild while driving down the freeway.
The major problem we have had has been with the brakes and customer service. Soon after we bought the car they had fixed the brakes, about a month or two after that the brakes started squeeking real bad and we could smell rubber burning. We took it to the dealership and the mech. and the sales manager both came out and said it was nothing, the brakes were fine, it was just the tires we were smelling.
We knew it was the brakes, but could do nothing. We left the lot and before getting on the freeway to come home stopped to get something to eat, which saved our lives - if we would have gotten on the freeway I cannot immagine what would have happened.
As we left the rest. our car started to smell real bad and started smoking. We began to drive back to the dealership, when my husband was making a left hand turn and the brakes went completely out. Luckly nothing happened and we were right down the street from the dealer.
They fixed the brakes for a second time. Since then they have been done a THRID time and still were not right.
We had to spend almost $500 out of our own pocket to finally have it done correctly by an outside shop.
They have told us many times that they would repair the problems and do not. They have said they would give us credit for what we paid for the brakes - then only gave us a deferrment - which in reality we are still paying for the brakes.
The gm has put my husband down, and they have been very rude.
When we bought the car we did not get a choice in vechicals - we were shown only ONE car and did not have a choice in what we wanted. They knew we needed a car and TOOK ADVANTAGE OF US!! I have asked for a copy of the 52-point inspection that they say they do - but can you guess - they cannot find it!! This place is a joke!!
DO NOT BUY FROM DRIVETIME - ALL THEY WILL GIVE YOU IS PROBLEMS!!

I sent in my report, above, I stated that we bought the car in 2003 - that is INCORRECT - we bought the lemon of a car in 2004 - sorry!!
