In June of 2015 I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Accent from Drivetime Auto Sales.  Being a senior citizen I wanted this to be the last car I purchased, so I choose out of the five cars presented to me, this 3yr old automobile.  Outside the car appeared to be cosmetically sound and mechanically sound after a test drive.   The car was financed for 65 months thru Drivetimes own fianance company.  I also purchased an extended warranty for $2900.

On July 3rd two fenders in the front both fell down from the hood area of the car.  I immediately phoned Aeverex the warranty company who sent me to Midas Muffler. Midas informed me that they did not have the necessary clamps to fix the problem.  Aeverex then told me to take the car to Earls Collision down the road on the same day.   After inspection, Earl phoned Aeverex to approve repair, which they denied.  Earl felt bad for me and used a compound to stick the fenders back onto the car as a courtesy.  This lasted for a month and one day I came outside and the driver side fender had dropped back down.  I purchased gorilla glue and put it back.

In August, I was guest musician at a wedding in another city, approx. 70 miles away.  Me and my 62 yr. old sister were in formal attire on the highway when the fender feel down, along with the drive pan covering the wheel wells on undercarriage of car.  Here we are on the berm of the highway trying to super glue the car together to get to our destination.  Of course we arrived with dirty hands and in disarray.

I contacted Aeverex on that Monday and told them about my awful experience in this car.  They sent me back to Earl's Collision and agreed to cover the problem with a $100 deductible.  Of course it stayed for about a month and the plastic cover from the wheel well is in my trunk.   This is just one of the problems with Aeverex and Drivetime.  I have a carfax indicating no accidents.  However Earl walked me around the car and indicated the car had definitely been in a collision and probably not reported.  I then noticed the paint over's dings, etc.

I had problems with the car making loud noises, directed to take it to Bedford Auto, one of their repair facilities, not covered. I goes on and on, not covered.  The last time was $700 for struts. No covered.

I cancelled the good for nothing warranty in September as of Jan, it was still active, although all paperwork was completed and mailed/faxed to them, they never received, even duplicates of request.  After contacting the BBB in Arizona, the cancellation came thru the next day.

I sincerely  feel Drivetime took advantage of a senior, with" so so"credit in need of dependable transportation.  Today, I have a lemon that unfortunately is to new of a car to be covered under the Lemon Law.  Drivetime talks a good game but doesn't live up to their policies.
