Enterprise is claiming damages to vehicle that we did not cause.  I've contacted the company several times to discuss and all they can tell me is that, "we're not saying you caused the damages, but that they occurred while in your possession."

This is not true.  The company only had one car left in the lot when I picked up the rental so I took that vehicle and was told to bring it back the next day and it would be swapped out for a bigger car.  I did so, and when I came back the next day the bigger car was ready, I was handed the keys and drove away without carefully inspecting the vehicle.  Upon returning the agent came out and immediately noticed small scratches, which i have a picture of, and stated i had caused this.

I believed him to be incorrect and immediately filed a dispute with the company.  I took pictures of the damages and you can see that the bumper in front of the scratches has been repainted, via the visible paint line, but according to him they would have fixed these as well.

Needless to say, the company has decided that the damage must be fault and is billing me $856 and threatening to send me to collections if I don't pay!  How is it that if I don't surrender money to a company holding me hostage they can damage my perfect credit!  I've not been able to speak with anyone that can provide resolution or even the option to have my own evaluation of the damage done.

in the photos.

Simply tell the manager at the rental company that you would like copies of all the repair orders for the vehicle in question. If they don't want to give you copies of the repair orders, then document it and keep that information. You can sue them in small claims court if they charge you for the damage.

Anyone with a functioning brain would be able to determine that the vehicle already had some type of damage by simply looking at the photos, right?

You can also contact all of your Local TV News stations and let them know what happened. Send each one a copy of your Ripoff Report, along with all of the photos and a copy of your rental agreement from Enterprise. Put it to the attention of 'Investigative Reporter'.

Maybe one of them will contact you and expose the Enterprise Rental agency on TV, so others are aware of what might happen to them if they decide to rent a vehicle there, right?

Good luck to you and keep us posted.
