Im not one for writing alot nor do I feel like getting all riled up again so to make a long story short... For as long as i've had this account they've charged me outrageous overdraft fees for unknown reasons. When i ask them why they always make up excuses that make no sense at all. I suggest you get a new bank immediately.

To add to Stacy's list.  You check your balance on line right?  If you check it all.

These all lead you to where you are and switching banks will not make any difference.

The reasons aren't unknown

The reason you are getting Overdraft Fees is because you are spending more than you have available in your account...now before you go "Duh, I'm not that stupid"...well yes you are if you don't know what is going on with your account.  Sorry if that sounds rough for you but I can just about guarantee you that your "problems" came down to a main issue.  You were not managing your account correctly.

You were probably relying on on-line banking instead of a Written Register.  The problem with that is that On-Line banking was never meant to replace a Written Register as unlike your register the bank does not know what you have spent  until they receive the information.  Due to various circumstances(outside of the banks control) that may be anywhere from 1 to several day delay.  If you keep a Written Register and never attempt to spend more than you have available, the chances of you over drafting are about zero.

There is also one other item.  If you "opted-in" to the Debit Card Overdraft coverage, you need to "opt-out" immediately.  When you do anytime you attempt to use your debit card at the ATM or Point of Sale and you do not have enough available it will be declined, thus saving you the Overdraft fee.  But remember this doesn't cover Checks or ACH transactions, which is why the Written Register is still important.

Now, if there is some other reason, then add some detail and explain those, along with what their excuses were.  Perhaps you could then get some suggestions on how to proceed.

Oh and before you ask.NO I do not work for this or any other bank.

The reason you have overdrafts for unknown reasons is...... because you didn't have enough money in the bank. Let me guess, you don't look at your bank statements. You don't keep a check register. You don't balance your checkbook. You typically have no idea how much money you really have in the bank and you overspend on that money occationally and incur overdraft fees. Does this cover it?
