I have been dealing with First Convenience Bank for less than a year. When I moved to this area, this bank was available 7 days a week and I had family that used it as well. Perfect! I signed my paperwork and got a checking account. Easy enough, right?

Well as the months rolled past, I realized how this bank was able to offer such a convenient checking account and fair loan rates. THEY ROB YOU.

In the 10 months I've been a customer, they have gotten nearly $1000 in overdraft fees from my account. It's funny because suddenly purchases weren't coming out for over a week, they weren't even "pending". That's a lie because when I called, they could see it all. I got lucky enough to speak with a customer service representative who warned me of 3 purchases that although purchased over 5 days ago would be posted after business close, thus charging me $35 for each.

What's even worse is they charged me $70 for a $9 overdraft and claimed it was for something else. Now, I'm not stupid. I understand " pending" and "posted". I had an auto insurance claim pending and then it was posted and paid. Not according to the woman on the phone.

They charge you overdraft fees for pending purchases and then they charge you again once it's posted! They say " You made the purchase, too bad!"

Watch what you sign. It turns out that they had me sign a form stating that I can overdraft my account. They claimed it was some sort of "protection"?? No. This was basically allowing them to charge me repeatedly for overdrafts.

This comes at the worst possible time. They rearrange your purchases to get more money. Don't tell me that the purchase didn't go through. I used debit just so it DOES come out immediately.

These people are crooks. They take advantage of whatever situation you may be in and then don't allow you to fix it or stop it. They take more and more and blame YOU because you're negative in your account although THEY took over $300 from you in fees I'm one week.

I wouldn't mind having a class action lawsuit against them. They have taken so much money from me (and from my family who have banked there).

They need stronger stipulations against this. CROOKS.

You are mistaken...

You are mistaken if you think that JUST because you used debit that it comes out immediately. MANY businesses don't do a DAILY transmission. I myself have had Overdraft fees from a local business putting their transactions to the bank every 72 hours. Because of the BUSINESS not sending in payments daily I ended up with over $400 in overdraft fees. So while Im sure it makes you feel better to blast the bank, there are other individuals involved. The MAIN one is YOU!!! It is perfectly legal for them to reorder the transactions as they come in. Normally they pay the MOST EXPENSIVE first. THEY can only apply the transactions that come in. Sounds to me that YOU don't wish to accept YOUR PART in all of this. Its YOUR responsibility to ensure that YOU have enough to cover ANY purchase you make. Even if they did reorder the incoming transactions, what it tells EVERYONE is that YOU are NOT using a register and you are ONLY using online or ATM to verify information. So if YOU don't have enough money to cover what YOU have purchased, WHY then is it the banks fault that YOU don't have enough money?? its NOT the banks fault that YOU are overspending. YOU are relying on old information and need to accept YOUR part in all of this. It wouldn't matter if you changed banks, the SAME problem is going to follow you. Its due to YOUR spending habits and YOUR accounting tactics. Until YOU accept YOUR part in all of this, NOTHING is going to change for you. FYI: Its NOT the banks job to give a d**n about YOUR personal life or situation. To expect them to have an opinion one way or the other is childish and immature on YOUR part. YOU can stop playing the victim because YOU have victimized YOURSELF!!! You don't NEED anyone else to screw with your finances, YOU can screw them up all on your own.
