I applied for a visa credit card with First National Bank of Marin I was told to send a $49 fee in and I would recieve a credit card for a $250 limit I don't have good credit so that was fine with me. I recieved the card and about 3 days later recieved a bill for $300.

I was shocked because I had not charged anything on the card as of yet I called the credit card customer service and asked for an explanation they said I had a $129 fee for getting the card a $79 annual fee another fee for $100 fee for somthing else and then my finance charges. I asked her to cancel the account and she said that it could not be cancelled because I had sent the $49 fee and wanted the account.

I have never had something like that happen to me before that company is a ripp off and need to be stopped. They have since sented my friends and fimaily members pre approved letters for credit cards but I tell them don't get the card. I just wanted to let more people know about First National bank of Marin. Thanks for reading my story.

I have been a credit card customer of First National Bank of Marin for over a year. I am very happy with them. I have very bad credit and wanted to clean up my credit so I decided to apply. I sent them the $49 but I also had to pay more charges for the initial application fee just like anyone else who applies with this company. That bank is there for you to make a fresh start. I have been a very happy and successfully paying customer for a while and I will be getting another increase in a few months. That increase will be UNsecured.

When you first apply to a credit card company it is important to read the fine print and that will thoroughly explain what the fees are for. If you don't read that fine print then you are only in for a big surprise once those bills start coming in.

If you have bad credit and want a credit card you have to pay more up front and be able to prove yourself. I totally disagree with the few complaints against this company. I am only one of many, many happy customers.
