Be warned!! I applied here before... wasted my gas, money and time going to an interview that was 60 miles away round trip for a position that was up the street from me. Keep in mind gasoline was about 4$ a gallon when this happened to me... so it was a real negative experience!


The guy interviewing Matt (who should have the lights knocked outta him) had said there would be a group interview from 2-4 pm or around a time line like that. So I was like "cool probably just doing interviews for multiple locations". Instead two people had got there a minutes earlier, he did a group interview with them, mean while, I was waiting for them to finish so I may be interviewed. After waiting a good 20, maybe 30 minutes...he didn't even bother to interview me just said "maybe we'll call you back" after shaking my hand... I don't think he even asked what my name was. I should of just punched him in the face and asked for the gas money I just wasted on him, and his company.


On a side note, he was an extremely scrawny, nerdy, looking guy that probably doesn't know how to properly interact with people!!! Very un-personable. Obviously Hollywood video doesn't care about its employee's if their willing to make themselves look that bad to possible hiree's!


... don't waste your time...and waste your gas if you do decide to go, go atleast half an hour early... seeing as how they like to jerk people around!!!!

..and for goodness sakes, stop whining about wasting gas. If you put as much effort into escalating this with the company as you have posting things on this board, you'd probably have the situation solved by now.

If what you're saying is indeed true, this is something that should be escalated.

If I remember correctly, proper procedure is that you should go in for an interview with the store manager, and then if you're seen as a potential you are given a second interview with the DM (district manager). As in, the DM drives out and meets you AT THE STORE YOU APPLIED AT.

This sounds like this was a case of a lazy lazy lazy district manager. Unfortunately you were stuck in a bad position: you got screwed out of an interview, and making a fuss about the issue would give them all the more reason to not give you a shot at one.

The HW/GC customer service line is: 1-800-SPEAK-TO-US and I believe they escalate things pretty quickly. If they don't, keep bugging them, or look up some corporate numbers online and keep escalating the issue.

Lame district managers are a large part of why the company is in trouble. While there may or may not be a shot at another interview, you can at least tag the lazy DM that did this.
