GARMIN Needed to update maps on our Garmin GPS. Logged on and created an account. Purchased the lifetime maps update for $89.99. Downloaded the program necessary "Garmin Express". Got everything up an working and then epic failure -- "There was an error installing the program". Shut it all down, started from scratch. EPIC FAILURE. Tried it on another computer. SAME EPIC FAILURE. Searched the webs for solutions only to find there are none and that people have been reporting this SAME problem since 2011. So, called the bank and launched an investigation to get my money back. We'll see what happens. Nationwide

MOST OF ALL - I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS LODGED ON THE INTERNET INVOLVING GARMIN!!!! Lesson learned - check the internet for consumer review before purchasing ANYTHING. Learn by my lesson and NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM GARMIN. Total and complete scam. I'm also contacting various authorities, the least of which will be the BBB on Monday, to report Garmin. Since I have worked in the legal field for 30+ years, I'm going to look into a class action FEDERAL lawsuit against Garmin. Mass torts was always my specialty.

Have a Garmin GPS x2.   Wanted to update maps.   Went to Garmin website (garmin.com).   Paid $89.99 for the lifetime map update.  Downloaded the program necessary for the transaction "Garmin Express".  Installed it -- complete epic failure with this message "There was a failure installing the program".   After two hours and two computers, and several reintalls, watching tech support vidoes, etc. --- epic failure.

Finally googled Garmin and discovered there are literally hundreds of "rip-off" type consumer complaints on the internet over this exact problem.   Having discovered that I called my bank immediately and initiated a fraud investigation as Garmin has gained a reputation of being a scam artist company when it comes to their "map updates" especially the lifetime membership.    Next step - Monday morning I will call the BBB and look into filling a class action suit.  I've been in the legal business as a paralegal for over 30 years, specifically dealing with mass torts.   This was a class action suit waiting to happen.

Lesson for me - check consumer reviews on any product your plan to purchase.

Lesson for you - never buy anything from Garmin.

Lesson for Garmin = Eventually when you rip-off your customers someone files a class action lawsuit.

Stay tuned because I really play to initiate a class action lawsuit.
