Yes, there may be help out there! Contact your state division of banking through your attorney general's office. I did this twice when they were calling me every hour on the hour and harassing me to the point where my heart wouldn't slow down and I thought that I was going to have a heart attack. So I took action and they had to stop calling me and only write me.
But now they are calling me again and I am going to have to get the attorney general's office involved, mention to them that the calls have resumed and getting them at work. Cherise screamed at me and hung up and I had customers and employees within hearing distance. That is none of their business.
Also, Steve/Scott, you goofed. It is against the law to discuss a customer's private business with the public. So I would definitely get legal counsel on that. Why is a class action suit not brought against these people? They'd make more money if they stopped the phone calls, etc. and charged a decent interest rate. They wouldn't have reposessions in the first place, and if they took out payments half one paycheck and half the other every two weeks, they'd automatically get an extra payment each year without having to lift a finger! Who can get a class action suit brought against these people? If enough people complain in different states, it might work! Get on the phone NOW!

If any of you have online access, go to the state locator page on the web and lookup your state, you can file a complain online and if a lot of people did this, we could get something going!
If you don't have a computer, your local library can accommodate you. Let's ROCK!

For the suggestion about half payments every two weeks, let's just do it! If I am correct, they have to accept payments unless there is an actual litigation happening. Maybe your bank could wire the money to your greentree account number and then you would have proof on your bank statements that the payments were made. I wonder what this would do to your interest that is charged every month? Maybe it would lessen it. Also you can deduct the interest on your loan off your taxes at the end of the year! I hope you all are doing this. Don't let them tell you it isn't possible. IT IS!
This way they are getting money twice a month instead of once. Gee, isn't that nice to get two checks instead of one and have money when you really need it? If they complain, you might just let them know that they are getting an extra payment every year without having to do anything. I'm sure money talks with them.
I wouldn't be beyond writing the United States Attorney General and the White House about this. If we are going to have to play hardball, then let's play it! All we want is some decency and to be left alone and at peace. So much easier to pay your bills and live that way. Any comments?
