I purchased a $99 furniture warranty on my leather chair.  The chair was scratched, and the scratch was clearly covered under the terms of the warranty.  I called Guardsman and they sent someone out to look at the scratch.  I provided them with the warranty, sales receipt, and details of the scratch.  They never got back to me.  I filed a complaint with the BBB, and they lied to the BBB, saying that they had offered to repair the scratch and that I had refused the repair.  This was the most unbelievable scam I have ever been involved with.  Clark Howard of HLN says that you should avoid these types of warranties.  Trust me, he's right.  Whatever you do, avoid Guardsman (aka Valspar).
