These jokers called me 2 weeks ago trying to tell me I had a magazine subscription from them. The only mags I ordered were from my nephew via school and I told the lady that. She said, "well, you can pay for them now over the phone, do you have a credit card?" I'm thinking, I do believe I already paid for these, but I told her yeah, I have a credit card. (shoulda never done that!) Anyway, she goes on asking me to give her the number of my Visa. (I never told her I had a Visa, how did she know?) I told her I had American Express - most places won't accept A.E. that's why I told her that cuz I really wasn't comfortable giving her any more info than she already had. She insisted she wanted my debit Visa number and the code form the back of the card. I then told her I wanted to speak to a manager.

Some guy come on the line explaining I had to pay for these mags. I told him they were already paid for and he argued with me they weren't and they needed my debit card number. I told him NO, you're not getting it. He then threatened me that they were turning this over to collection agency and I told him do what you gotta do -ain't the first time I filed a fraud report to Transunion! He didn't like that reply and promply hung up on me.

I did some digging and yeah, they are a mag subscript entity, but NOT the one I dealt with at the school. (and yes, the mags from school WERE paid!)How did they get so much info on me? Since then, they have called me EVERY night about 3-4 times per night, sometimes after 8:45pm! The one night I answered because I had something to tell them, but when I did, whoever was on the other end hung up! The caller ID comes up Heartland Inc 515-251-5316 every time.

If I do get ahold of these jokers I'm gonna tell them that as a consumer I am protected under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. If they continue, then under the Hobbs Act title 18-USC 1951 they are in violation of trying to extort monies out of me thru Interstate Commerce and this IS a Federal penality. And yes, I turned them in to the TCPA because I am on the Do Not Call list and I don't have dealings with this company. There's no reason for them to be calling me except to extort money outta my bank account! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION!!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!
