I ordered an Amana Dryer from Homedepot.com on April 30,2018. It was delivered to my house on May 4 at around 11 am. My wife was able to work from home that day and accepted the delivery. I came home from work at 8pm on this date inspected and installed the dryer. I installed it and found it to be none functional. I contacted the home depot helpline that I found on the website but the representative told me that I would have to call back the following day since the Manufacturer is closed. I did as instructed and called back the next day (9 am on May 5) and spoke with the representative who assured me that I would be receiving a replacement dryer. She told me that I would get a phone call within 24-72 business hours with a delivery eta of the new dryer.

I started to get worried after not receiving any phone calls after 48 business hours (May 8) so I decided to call and find out what was going on. The representative told me that I would not be receiving a replacement and instead they had scheduled a technician to come look at the unit on.

They already scheduled the repair date but not informed me of it at all. To make matters worse, I specifically purchased the dryer online with the home depot because I read that "Once delivery is accepted by a customer, product may be returned if defects and/or damage is identified and reported to The Home Depot within 48 hours of delivery day".

I followed Home Depot's return policy to the T, yet here I am stuck with a repair person working on this appliance that was sent to me defective from the store. I bought a brand new appliance with the gaurantee that if it was defective that it would be returned as it says it on thier website, yet when it comes down to it they do not follow their return policy. The technician came out today (May 11) and found the timer to be defective on the dryer and said he has to order it and will be back on May 18 to install it. Zero guarantee that this will actually fix the problem and now a third day will be spent on a dryer that was ordered brand new from Home Depot.

Buyer Beware. HOME DEPOT has false return policies listed on their website. ALL I wanted (and I have told this to every representative that I have talk to at home depot) is a return of my money or an exchange for a brand new dryer, just like their website return policy claims. To this day I do not have a working Dryer, no return option, and no exchange.

All I have is hope, that the technician's diagnosis is correct and hopefully I will have a working dryer two weeks later than the delivery date.

But who wants a brand new defective dryer straight from the store?
