I went to Home Depot today to return a $40 something facemask without my receipt and was refused service. The return girl gave me a receipt saying my return was denied.

On the receipt I was informed that I could not return items without a receipt, or with a receipt for store credit. Why? What did I do?

I have been coming to this same Home Depot ALMOST DAILY since they opened here in Hawaii. I am an independent handyman and I always pay cash. Always. When I don't need something I return it, and if I don't have the receipt I really could care less because I will be back the next day to buy something else, and a store credit is fine.

Now my name has been flagged by an outside agency, The Retail Equation, a third party who I have not conducted any business. Who are The Retail Equation?

The Retail Equation is a data tracking misinformed collection of people who have no idea what I am buying, for who, nor have any knowledge of how much money I spend in Home Depot.

So why is Home Depot letting The Retail Equation determine what I can and cannot return?

What number do The Retail Equation use as a basis limiting me from returning items with no receipt? How can a competent individual make an educated decision without knowing all the facts. A competent individual couldn't, and shouldn't.

Who are the boneheads running Home Depot? And who are the idiots at The Retail Equation?
