After reading several other complaints on Homecomings I thought I was the only one going through this. My husband and I was cleared from Chapter 7 in January. I noticed that they never cashed the check that we sent them on our next payment and they said they never received it. Come to find out that they did because that same afternoon in the mail was the check returned.
I called them back and they stated that it takes 15 business days for the payment to be posted to the account and since it was after the 30 days it was late and foreclosure was in the works.
They made me pay a $800 lawyer fee for I am not sure of and then two months of payments. Then there was a bunch of weird fees on our statements.
This company is so shady. We tried to refinance due to they increased our mortgage by 400.00 a month after our chaper 7. They said that we cannot until after 1 full year after we filed. I think they are just out to screw people.

Send ALL payments via Certified Mail with Return Receipt....this will cost $3 but it's worth it. You'll receive a notification card from the USPS stating exactly when the item was received by Homecoming.....If they try to pull the "late payment" scam, contact your state postmaster general.
There's a reason why they like late payments...they can note this on your credit report to damage your credit file, making it it unlikely that you'll be able to refinance with another firm...They want to keep you in their firm grip and on their terms.
