We had a homeowners claim due to Hurricane Irma in September 2017. We notified our insurance company on 9/13/2017 who sent adjusters out. We promptly submitted all the claim information requested on their on-line site. As of now they are still holding over $33,000.00 of a $77,000.00 claim. All repairs have been made, all inspections have been done and yet, no check. I call frequently, the last inspection was done June 11th, 2018. Their time frame is 5-8 business days after the inspection is done. Everytime I call they give me some rediculous explaination. here's how it goes:

Me: Inspection was done on June 11, 2018

Them: We didn't receive it til June 13, 2018. We have 5 to 7 days to review and send check out.

Me: We didn't get the check, what happened?

Them: We sent it to our corporate office for review in June 18th.

Me: Why did you hold it for 5 days before you sent it to the corporate office?

Them: We had to make sure you had submitted all the right paperwork. (I had)

Me: I have submitted all the paperwork you requested as soon as it was available to me, so it couldn't have taken you 5 days to review. What is the corporate office doing with it?

Them: They review it and make sure everyone has been paid and their are no outstanding liens.

Me: It's June 22nd, whats going on? When can we expect to receive our insurance claim check?

Them: We just got it back from corporate today and are submitting the draw request.

Me: so when can we expect it? 

Them: They have 5-7 days to mail it. The last possible day is July 9th, 2018.

Me: And you can't expedite the check since it is long over the 5-7 day turn around?

Them: No, it will be no later than July 9th.

Me: I would like to speak with someone who can help me with this, maybe your supervisor

Them: I am a Sr. Associate and no one above me can help you.

We apparently have no control over getting our insurance claim payments with this company, they do what they want. And our Mortgage Companies and Banks just allow it.
