Boy these people have it so wrong! My wife and I purchased a furniture set for the new Apt. we had recently moved into. We purchased the set on 12/05/04, the delivery date was 12/22/04. We were hoping to have every thing in place in time for a Holiday Feast we were hosting. They almost ruined it for us.

The total cost was $1227.43 and, that included a $200 delivery fee, and almost $100 in taxes. We put down $650 in cash (big mistake, next time we will ut in on CC so we can stop the payment if this occurs) and the balance was C.O.D @ $577.43, in which we got a money order for.

As soon as the delivery man came, he immediately mentioned the stairs (1 flight stright up), and a $35 fee for removing the door. It was close to Christmas so we were prepared to give him a little something, but this soured us, and recanted. He got it upstairs, and said the door was too narrow(strange cause the door downstairs is exactly the same size) and wanted the $35 to remove the door, that was the last straw. He took it back, we immediately called the store, and got the worst service ever. The saleswoman actually started yelling @ us, and said she was going on Vacation (like I cared!) and couldn't do anything till she got back.

We waited until the New Year, and called, and played phone tag with several depts. Left messages that were never returned, and got lip service about, new deliveries, which never surfaced, and fees since we "refused" delivery. We finally got a "Supervisor" who was only a salesman, and got a refund minus the delivery fee, and the tax, and they took an extra litle for themselves too. The check which we got in late Feb. was for $408.80.

Have these people ever heard the phrase "The Customer is always right" and do they know that their are other options besides themselves? It is pretty bad, with the economy in the shape its in, that businesses like this actually survive.
