This is a follow-up on the report I filed earlier. I carried my ring back to Kay at Old Hickory Mall becasue less than 12 hours after having the stone replaced if fell out again. They told me I could exchange it for another style. Everything was fine until I got to the store. The original ring was 1599.99 plus tax. We paid 1000.00 plus tax. The ring I picked out was 1899.99 on sale for 1399.99. In the end this is how it went. I gave them the ring I paid 1000.00 for I had 300.00 in bonus bucks which I gave them a 50.00 gift certificate and a check for 75.00. Now according to my calculations that comes to 1425.00 so they are still ripping me off 25.00. You would think a company this big would not be interested in stealing 25.00 from a customer. But, hey, their jewerly is so cheaply made they have to make the money where they can. Please if you are in the market for jewelery DO NOT go to Kay. The merchandise is cheap and they will screw you in a heartbeat.

#7 UPDATE Employee
I feel sorry for you.

The reason I feel sorry for you is because you are very bored. Sterling sells hundreds of thousands of rings each year and to a have so few complaints I would say we're doing pretty well. Ford and Chevrolet have thousands of complaints every year but that doesn't mean they sell junk, it means that there are some lemons out there. Same goes for Sterling jewelry, remember these items are made by humans and are subject flaws. Sterling Inc is the #1 specialty jeweler in the world and I don't think they got that way by selling garbage. This is a very reputable and charitable company your slandering so I would be careful.

not a good example

I've seen things happen at Sterling Inc. store that I would complain about, but this is not a good example. I understand you weren't happy with the ring you bought, but they obviously made it right. However, when you say that they still ripped you off after they obviously gave over $100 that you didn't deserve, you start to look like the schemer in this situation. You took away from the livelyhood of that salesperson, that's $100 that could have been used for his/her groceries, baby's diapers, rent, mortgage, or any other necessary expense. Not sure what you pulled off, but it got you an extra $100. But, hey, I'm sure you feel entitled to it.
I don't think they have Bonus Bucks either. I know of Santa Certificates and Holiday Dollars, but I've never heard of Bonus Bucks. Sounds like you may be confused with another store.

You can white was the deal anyway that you want to. I still got ripped off. I was sold a piece of crap ring and they have yet to make it right. If you are so happy with them then just on their bandwagon. But, don't buy anything from them or you too will get ripped off. And for your info, no one got in trouble with the Bonus Dollars. Threre were 300.00 not 200.00 and the home office okayed the little transaction. So as I said until you get burned by this company then keep shouting their praises from the roof tops. We'll see ya back here when you get ripped off too.

you still aren't being ripped off

here's how it works, you bought the original ring for $1,000, with tax you're looking at a total of $1,092.50. the new ring was $1,399.99 with tax is $1,529.49. subtract $1,092.50 from $1,529.49 and you get $436.99. subtract the $200 bonus bucks and you have $236.99, subtract the $75 check, brings you to $161.99, subtract the $50 gift certificate and you have a balance of $111.99. which you did not have to pay.
the reason you should not have been able to use all $300 of your bonus bucks is because you can only use them on up to half of the amount and they come in $100 increments. therefore you can only use $200 of them.
it sucks the jewelry you bought fell apart but don't blame the people in the store for your trouble. it is their job to sell you the jewerly, they do not make it. And it seems as though they were very nice to you seeing how they let you use all of your bonus bucks. you probably had some assistant manager get in trouble for giving you $111.99.
