I tried returning a movado ($1k) today. at Kay Jewelers in Broward Mall Ft. lauderdale. I was within the 30 day return period and still got denied a return. Actually i bought it November 30th, so i have one more day to return it. Supposedly it was worn and resized. Heck they offered to resize it!!
What a scam. they just want to keep the commision at all costs. Im warning everyone not to buy any watches there again! Im going to contact Movado and let them know they are not offering returns. Every manufacturer has a RMA process.
Manager at Kay told me Movado will not accept that return. What a lie! I even took the watch to Macys. Which they could not see any indication of it being worn. I even bought the silly Ultimate Warrenty Plan, which is useless.

I had the exact same experience with Kay. I was sold a watch for a special occasion and was told if it didn't work out I could return the watch for any reason. Prior to even finishing the purchase transaction they had taken the etch out of my hand and were hastily pulling links out to resize it. 3 days after my purchase I got my dress back from alterations and found the watch didn't match my dress. the same day I went to return the watch and they told me it had been altered (resized) and was not returnable. Of course the store manager said there was nothing he could do since he hadn't been there when I made the purchase and the shady salesman has since left the job and run away with his commission. Customer service was no help and only offered me 10% of the watches value in compensation for the misunderstanding.
